Can anyone suggest good histories, in Spanish or English, for this region prior to 1900? Thanks!
This book, "The haciendas of Mexico : a list of plantations and principal farms in the Republic of Mexico together with the names and post-office addresses of their owners," from about 1883, gives some information on the haciendas, but no history. The book is in English.
