Mid January 2026 - NuestrosRanchos Update

All,

Backups:  Drupal Mid January 2026 backups were successful.

NR Production Version Updates: The following NR website software status: Drupal was updated from version 11.3.1 to 11.3.2. The Linux kernel remains at version 6.8.0-90. PHP remains at version 8.4.16.  MariaDB remains at version 11.4.9. Ubuntu remains at version 24.04.3.

Testing - Drupal 11:
When Drupal was updated from version 11.3.1 to 11.3.2, the Drupal NR and test website were receiving some deprecated warnings for one module that is is used by our NR site.  It had to do with some code changes that needed to be made in the module "Entity access by Role Field".  The deprecated warning was forwarded to the group that maintains the module, and it was fixed. The warning had to do with newer PHP versions (8.4 or higher), which have tighter coding standards. The updated module was tested on the NR test site and caused no issues at tstsite1.top. After successful testing, it was also placed on the production system, and is now operating with no issues.  I have installed PHP 8.5 on the VPS server. It currently is only being used on the test site for now. There is at least one module (Forum_Access) that is giving a deprecated warning while using PHP 8.5 with the test system. I will report this warning to the module owners in order to fix this warning, which again is involved with tighter code standards. Until the Forum_Access module is "Warning Free", I will not activate PHP 8.5 on the production system.

Albums Update: The final Members and Group Meeting Photos section remains at about 40 percent complete.

Finance Status:
Balance of $800.00 for NR VPS operating expenses was placed in the bank. No expenditures thus far.

Note 1:The majority of users visited the NR site over the last two weeks and left within 30 seconds (343,296).  This is usually because a user was searching for something specific, and did not find what they were looking for. However a significant number of users stayed between 1/2 hour and 1 hour (6,046 visits).  822 visits were longer then 1 hour. This tells me the NR site is very busy. If you count users that stayed 5 minutes or longer, these numbers go up even more (another 3,771 valid visits). That would make the total valid visits to the site in a two week period at over 10,000, or an average of 714 valid website visits per day.
