record I would record the wives parents names as well.



The way you can check my direct line and the various surnames that
contributed to making me. . .go to Antonio Diaz Puentes (my Dad using
the American style of naming) and click on his parents their parents
their parents their parents etc.

...I'd say that is just the beginning of a gedcom.  It is not unusual to have several thousand on your geedcom & if you get hooked you could easily go much higher than that.  I have barely begun my husbands side (April 2005) and it already has 1200.  Now I won't even mention how many I have on my side cause then you would think I have no life other than genealogy research...smile.  I will state that those that do hang in my Tree, have at least one verifiable document (birth, marriage, death, census, will, land record,etc) for that person.  I am on a quest to obtain a photo of each of them, which I know is impossible but it something I'd like to do so when I finally put it all together in book form it sure will make for a more interesting read.  Hope I haven't scared you but once you get hooked, it's hard to stop.....
