Hi, Alberto,

No, they weren't from Jerez.  Joseph attached a photo of the document he wanted help in deciphering, so I was responding to that.  His folks were from Aguascalientes and Cototlan.

According to my wife, Colico (colic), has to do with a
stomach aliment. She told me the stomach inflates
with air which sometimes results in death.

For a long time, the drinking water in Mexico was not
treated, which probably caused many deaths, especially
in young children and older adults.

Hi, Joseph,

It is a death certificate from February 7 (?) (siete) 1822.  He died of la grippe (gripa?).(or colic).  He was the  second husband of Mrs. Ramires, his widow, or it was his second marriage, I can't quite figure that out.  It does look like his mother was Ynes Flores de Lisar.

Joseph,

Is this a death certificate. It seems as if it might say "murio de
colico", meaning died of a colic.

Does this make sense?
