I am interested to know how computer-savvy Mr. De La Torre is as regards
doing genealogy research online.  He has an e-mail address, so obviously he
is computer-literate, but if I e-mailed him, would he know what I was talking
about if I mentioned the IGI, Ancestry.com, World Connect, etc.?  Would he
be able to scan and e-mail copies of records and photos, or would he prefer
snail-mail?   I cannot go to Jerez, and all my communication with him
would be via e-mail or snail-mail, and I could send money to him from our local
post office, the way I see the green-carders here doing (sending money to
Mexico).

there is a good possibility. Let's see what Arturo says after he talks to him
more. We might need to wait until he gets back from MX as I'm pretty sure he
is going to get together with him during his trip.

lugar muy importante para algunos genealogistas, pues

:-)   I was also thinking the same thing.......if we, those that are
interested, each contribute a certain amount of $$$, would Senor Leonardo de la
Torre Berumen do research for us?  I met Senor de la Torre a few years ago
in Jerez and he is a very nice person, very knowledgeable......and a very
sharing person.  I would not hesitate to have him do research for me. 
I really believe we are on to a good thing here......

Oh, how I wish I could go with you to see that researcher.  My father
was related to both the De La Torres and Berumens and collaterally to the
Haros.  Maybe he could help me find records on my father and his
mother.  My husband is related to the De Leons in Jalisco.  Soon I
will be updating and posting my husband's tree, and I will send a link to it on
World Connect.

Arturo, el señor De La Torre me parece sincero
porque coincidentemente conoci hace tiempo a una familia De Leon residentes en
Los Angeles, originarios de Huejucar y criados en Colotlan, donde nacieron sus
sobrinos y sobrinas que se dedican al magisterio y tienen buen prestigio en la
ciudad, un hermano y el papa se dedican al oficio de hacer huaraches,
sombreros de charros, cintos pitillados, etc creo son dueños de una papeleria
y un ciber centro. espero te sirva esta informacion, aunque mas bien te estoy
refiriendo a los De Leon como personas honestas, aunque hasta la fecha no he

tambièn le trabajo asi de modo mensual a un miembro de
la
Academia de Heraldica y Genealogia de la Ciudad de
Mèxico. Otra cosa a
lomejor Usted pasa por Jerez,porqe
es la pasada para ir a Colotlàn,si
viene por tierra es
decir en vehiculo, solo que se venga por avion
a
Guadalajara y de Guadalajara a Colotlàn por vehiculo,
y si llega al
Aeropuerto de Calera, si debe pasar por
Jerez. Porque esta via es Calera,
Jerez, Tepetongo,
Huejucar, Colotlan y Tlaltengo, que tambièn es
un
lugar muy importante para algunos genealogistas, pues
es un pueblo
de indios fundado desde 1542, y contiene
archivo desde 1626, muy rico
acervo que ya he
consultado en varios momentos.
