John, So your grandmother was born in Jerez in 1903 and you say the records were "destroyed"? My father was born in Jerez also in 1903, and when we went there to try to get a birth record the priest at the church told him that the records for 1903 had been "burned" (I presumed that happened around 1910-1916 when my father and his father left Mexico forever because the fighting was so horrendous there during the Revolution. What were you told about how the records were destroyed? Please let me know if you find anything on those born in Jerez in 1903. I recently posted a link to my Olague-Tinajero [Felix] tree that I updated on World Connect. Did you see it? My maternal grandmother was Gorgonia Garcia and her parents were Ignacio Garcia and Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez. I have not found a thing on them yet in the IGI, and I am assuming they were from Jerez, since my father Guadalupe Olague was born there, but his father Francisco Olague was born, as were all his ancestors going back to the early 1700s, in Salitrillo, part of the jurisdiction of Tepetongo.
