This message is in regard to Irma Gómez's line of descent.  Very, 
very interesting.  Finally I see some Los Altos genealogy.

It seems that you and I, Irma, are both cousins, or should I say, 
primos.  My name is Steven F. Hernández, and my ancestry is also from 
the region of Jalisco known as "Los Altos."  Los Altos has 
historically been an isolated region, closed off from the rest of 
Mexico.  The area was populated by early Spanish and Basque pioneers, 
pobladores, and descendants of the conquistadors.  As a result of 
this high concentration of Spanish blood, alteños are light skinned 
and fairer than other Mexicans.  Alteños live a culture, speak a 
language, and practice a religion that is strongly Spanish/Hispanic.  
But all this is historically well known and documented.

Irma, I have 90% of the surnames in you line.  I have Gómez (which 
used to known as Gómez Hurtado de Mendoza), Arias Maldonado, Macías 
Valadéz, Muñoz (de Hermosillo), Hermosillo, Gutiérrez (de 
Hermosillo), López Muñoz de Nava, Gutiérrez (de Mendoza), etc, etc.  
In subsequent postings, I'll upload information about my family, 
including my own surname, Hernández, which comes from Arandas and Ayo 
el Chico, in southern Los Altos.  Right now check the uploaded files 
in the Files section for the pedigree charts I posted.

I just wanted to ask you, Irma, a few more questions:  Who were the 
parents of Ma. Josefa Pérez, married to Joseph María Gómez?  I'm sure 
you already know that the parents of Juana María Hermosillo were Juan 
María de Hermosillo and Ma. Rafaela Gutiérrez, right?  Well who were 
the parents of Juan de Hermosillo and Rafaela Gutiérrez?  Do you have 
them?  I'm quite sure I'll have THEM in my database.  At the moment I 
have 38,204 individuals in my program.  I hope to hear from you
