Do you know what the difference is between the Bautismos 1865-1879 1158200
film and the Bautismos de hijos legitimos 1867-1879 445096 film is?
I think I just answered my own question:

I'd be willing to bet that the 445096 film is from the 1962 filming and that
the 1158200 film is from 1978. . .I'd check both.
I'm probably not going to suggest anything that you haven't already done.
But just in case.
Have you actually gone through the baptism records entry by entry. sometimes
the names are not entered right or some records are illegible. It could be
your Fortino's record was destroyed (I hope not) by time or poor conditions.
Anyway it could be that its in the records but just as a strange spelling
because of possible poor penmanship or poor transcriber interpretation. So
that being the case I'd start a good 4 years before 1870 lets say 1866 and
read through every single entry until about 1874. Actually when time permits
I'd suggest this as a standard procedure. You really are passing up sooo
much info with looking up entries that are found on the family search website.
If you haven't done this you will probably pick up a wealth of auxillary
branches of the family, especially who the daughters of the family married.
I did find a Jose Fortino Romero in 1870 but I'm sure you already saw that
record was from Guanajuato,

ps: by the way didn't the marriage record give the parents names? I have
quite a few marriage records that are sooooo disappointing in that all they
give are the names of the couple and the padrinos and testigos. Is that the
kind of marriage record you found? Another thing to think about is that if
you go and have a look at all the Romeros in your Fortinos time frame you
might find him as a padrino. . .this will give you some idea of who his brothers
or sisters might be.

originario and vecino del Rancho del Paraje. At the time of his marriage
it shows him to be 25 years old but the baptismal records do not ! show him.
I tried to get the birth records for Huejucar for the year 1870 but they
only have them for starting with the year 1872. I requested the film bautismos
de Colotlan 1863-1867 but sure would appreciate any insight you may provide.
