Augustin Carlos de Godoy

I've hit a wall. Augustin Carlos de Godoy and his wife: Maria Anna (or Mariana) Leogarda Lemus lived in Totatiche, Jalisco from about 1750 to the time of Lugarda's death, 31 Sept. 1785; Augustin was also deceased by 1798 (but I haven't located his burial). However, their daughter, Maria Martina, at the time of her marriage to Antonio Valerio Gonzales mentions that she is originally from Jerez: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1-18724-61004-19?cc=1874591&wc….
This couple, Augustin and Mariana Lugarda, had several other children including:

Juan Antonio; mar: Bernarda Sena Melgarejo and Anna Maria Avila

Maria Cielos; mar: Diego Rios

Maria Antonia
Joseph Calisto

Jesus de los Santos; mar: Bernardina Villalobos

Maria Gregoria; mar: Lorenzo Nunez

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Derdra, while researching my ancestors in Jocotepec Jalisco I ran in to an Augustin Godoy baptized April 8 1685 son of Joseph Godoy and Maria de Lipe.
There are other Godoy's.
I know it is a little before your Augustin, but you never know.

Thank you Carmen. I've learned that every clue may develop into something useful. Even if this is not the Augustin I'm searching for it could be his father or grandfather.

Hello Sylvia, I too am doing a majority of my research in Jerez and Tepetongo and can tell you that Carlos Godoy is a very common name for this area. in the 1800's I found that the Godoy was dropped from a lot of the names and they just used Carlos. I have a lot of Carlos on my tree but not an Augustin. I don't think that Lugarda is a very common name for that part of Zacatecas however.

Sorry I wasn't able to offer any information on Augustin.

Sylvia I have my files posted on Rootsweb.com but will be updating later this week.  My file name is Mexico, my root person is my Father, Chet (Aniceto) Castanon. My Mother, Dolores Gutierrez's family was from Jalisco and before that from Michoacán.  You can go to  the index to search for any names you may be looking for. I have over 99 thousand names and have barely touched Tepetongo!  Do you have your files where I can see them?

I do research in Jerez but Viboras in part of Tepetongo but I have not found anything with the name Augustin Carlos de Godoy
