yes I seem to be getting the point. I was pretty tired the first time I
read this but yes in time as I order the films and confirm the IGI
entries and look into the matter a bit more I'd be very proud to call
you Primo.

lang="0">Any way, back to the burial entry.  Manuel Castañeda died of
"evacuación," which literally means evacuation, a description covering
many diseases like diarrhea or dysentery.  He was 80 years old when he
died in 1823, which if the age was correct, means he was born in 1743. 
Later on, I'll prove he was born in 1744, which means he was actually
79 years old when he died.

yes later I'll be very interested in this as I have seen several
records where the ages from one record don't quite jive with ages on
other records and the difference is a small amount usually about 2
years.

If Manuel was born in 1743 then he would have been 20 to 24 years old
when he married in 1763 to 1767.  This fits in with what I found.  I
did a search on him and his wife María Lugarda Díaz and found several
children, the first of which was born in 1768

Yes I have these two records and sooooo very much wanted to see the
Abuelos listed but knew beforehand that they wouldn't be listed, but
was ever so happy to find that my GGGG-grandparents: Vicente Diaz and
Hipolita Rivas were padrinos for one of the above children, I can't
remember right now which. Anyway Since they were padrinos I figured
that they had to be from the same Diaz family. I was also speculating
that since my GGGGG-grandparents, the parents of Vicente were Juan Jose
Diaz and Maria Concepcion Castaneda that Lugarda might have married
back into the Castaneda family like was pretty common from what I'm
seeing. And in this case that is what it very much looks like happened.

Notice that the children were born in Colotlán, Tlaltenango, and
Momax.  There's probably more of them out there, but you'll have to go
looking for them.



I was not able to find Manuel's marriage with Ma. Lugarda Díaz.  I
tried looking for him as Manuel Castañeda and as Joseph Manuel
Castañeda, using both different first names, but nothing. 



I also tried doing a parent search and marriage search on Joseph
Castañeda and María Melchora Miramontes, but again, nothing.  So, if
you can't climb over a wall or go around it, then start digging under
it.  There's always a way through



I did searches on any Castañeda/Miramontes children and noticed that
there was a couple by the name of Luis Castañeda and Melchora
Miramontes.  TOO MUCH OF A COINCIDENCE.  Manuel's father Joseph was
really Luis, or probably Joseph Luis Castañeda.  Many times when
someone is not sure of a name, they'll just say "José" or "Joseph"
which was equivalent to Fulano or "so and so."

Yes I saw this record also and thought it was VERY much worthy of
further investigation, but never did I think about them being the
parents. I though they might have been other family members marring
into the same families again. But not having paid enough careful
attention I missed the names of the children while toooo much
concentrating on the names of the parents. I probably would have gotten
the point eventually but I'm glad your discerning eye took in ALL the
information.

The marriage extract in the IGI for Luis Castañeda did not mention who
he married but I'll bet you a million bucks

I'm not taking that bet because I agree it has to be the marriage of my
Heptabuelos Luis and Melchora de los Reyes. And if that is the case
then Diego y Maria are my Octabuelos. Yes I have to believe that when I
dive into those Tlaltenango records for all these events I'll not only
confirm what the IGI says but also find the Diaz family padres on these
same levels. thank you so much for this help. I'm going to be so happy
to find my family alive and well in Tlaltenango exactly where I thought
they were. I just love it when more and more evidence keeps piling up
forcing you to have to look in a certain area for your roots. I'd say
that evidence is overwhelming at this point. I'm going to have to get
my film numbers in order and put in a large order for multiple
Tlaltenango films as well as Momax.
