You brought cherished memories back.  Those sayings are all too well 
known by me and my brothers.

The version my mother remembers from her childhood, whose words we 
were tickled to, is "andaba la hormiguita, buscando su leñita, llegó 
la lloviznita y corrió, corrió para su casita". Even my daughter 
enjoyed as a child laughing openly when being tickled by her grandma.

I'm sure you must remember this one: "este dedito se halló un 
huevito, este lo coció, este lo peló, este le echó la sal y este 
gordito se lo comió" while at the same time the fingers were ran from 
the little toe to the big toe.  Who else remembers?

Alicia,

You beat me to the saying "El que tiene más saliva traga más pinole", 
but have you heard the one that says "No se puede chiflar y tragar 
pinole al mismo tiempo"?

I guess that's the Mexican equivalent of "you can't have your cake 
and eat it too"
