I actually heard that song when I was a kid in Mexico, but a little 
bit different. It went something like this:

Acerrin, acerran,
los maderos de San Juan,
piden pan y no les dan,
piden queso y les dan hueso,
se les atora en el pescuezo,
y se ponen a llorar.
