Rey/Reyes Name

I have on more than one occasion
heard that people with the Rey or
Reyes last name belong to one and the
same family. How can this be
possible??  Has anyone heard similar
comments or can anyone
elaborate. Is it a root name of another name, where
does it
orginate, does it come from another country??? In my family I have

RuizRey, Flores-Rey, Rey, these families are from the Camargo

Chihuahua area. Yet, my daughter married a Tomas Rey in El Paso,
Tx.

Are they related or what?
