well yes I am interested if I have any Jewish blood in me. but mainly
I'm wanting to see if I might be related to others in the FamilyTreeDNA
Mexican Surname project or to anyone in their database in general. I
also have strong suspicions I'm related to a few people in the group
and would love it if they were to join the project so we'd know for
sure and maybe it would motivate us in how we persue our research.



I'm also wanting to get several of my relatives to take the test just
to establish our genes for future generations to compare to.



My whole thing about this genealogy "thing" is to do as much work as I
can before I die. I want to leave things as "tidy" as I can so someone
coming after me 10 generations from now will be able to pick up and
start from where I left off. I figure it can't hurt to leave as many
organized clues and "leads to further info" as possible.

common ancestor. I thi! nk the common ancestor is Diego de Villarreal
my 9th great grandfather who was born in 1601. We are working at
tracing Ed's family tree and are within one generation away from Diego.
We are just trying to figure which son he came from.  One common
finding is that we are classified as Haplogroup E3b which means we are
of Jewish origins and our closest genetic cousins so far are mostly
Eastern European Jews.  A small percentage of Sephardic Jews or Spanish
Jews are Ashkenazi Jews. I have made big leaps in my own research and
have found more than one Villarreal family in
