This is not directly related to our geographical areas of research but
of general importance to our geneological advancement

Just wanted to share this message sent to me by George Gause on DNA
testing. It is so interesting that connections were made and now they
are striving to make the paper connection. I became part of the DNA
testing project about 3-4 weeks ago. My results are not back yet but
I'd like to encourage some of you to be part of this project as well.

you know the

some
success. Danny Villarreal from

have come up as exact genetic matches. This
means that we have a same common ancestor. I think the common ancestor
is Diego
de Villarreal my 9th great grandfather who was born in 1601. We are
working at
tracing Ed's family tree and are within one generation away from Diego.
We are
just trying to figure which son he came from.  One common finding is
that
we are classified as Haplogroup E3b which means we are of Jewish
origins and
our closest genetic cousins so far are mostly Eastern European Jews.  A
small percentage of Sephardic Jews or Spanish Jews are Ashkenazi Jews.
I have
made big leaps in my own research and have found more than one
