Marriage: Help Civil record or Catholic Church records?

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to locate a marriage record from my Great( 3x) grandparents- Felicitas Magallanes and Cirilo (Sirilo) Alvarez married June 8, 1881 in Tlaltenango de Sanchez Roman, Zac.

As I am new to this, I have looked in the Catholic Church record with no luck. Here is the IGI listing:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/JZXY-XPK

Should I be looking in the civil records or Catholic Church records? Also it lists the date of June 8, 1881 but in the church records there are several dates listed with each matrimonial recording. Any guidance on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Pauline

there might be a marriage record in this film  443974  date 1858 to 1885 there are 654 pages so I would start at abt page 450 find the year 1881 and go from there.. hope this helps you. (this is a church record)

If you don't find the record in the Church sources, I would look in the civil records. I have seen cases where there is no baptism or marriage record in the Church records, but there is a civil record, and vice versa.

There is no question the record will be found in link provided by Linda.
Whenever there is an IGI listing and it has a film number the record will
be in the volume that pertains to the film number. Additionally, I haven't
seen IGI listings for Mexico that weren't for church records.

The IGI records states the record is found in film 443974

The link provided by Linda is film 443974
