Subject: [ranchos] File Storage Problem
Date: Wed, 17 Mar 2004 00:34:43 -0500
we are running out of room in the File area for storing the genealogies.
We are allowed 20,000 kb and are currently using 14,500 kb. We have a
little room to go but want to discuss this problem with you all.
I have a website at usgenealogy.net and the site owner said that I could
start up another webpage just for the group. We could use the page just
to post genealogies, but it wouldn't be private like the Yahoo site. But
it would be private in that only members would know the address. Well I
guess that's really not private as someone could just wander into the
site and look at everyone's genealogy. Or some future disgruntled member
could go and post the webpages address all over the internet.

We could start a second YahooGroup called Ranchos2 and use the 20,000kb
of the files in that group to store genealogies but then everyone would
need to be subscribed to that group as well. . .a bit of a hassle but
not to hard to accomplish.
Does anyone have a better idea on how to get additional private storage
area for the group?
thanks,
joseph

Yes, I definitely would like to keep our genealogies private. I would hate to see our hard work show up in someone's published work without our permission & knowledge. We've all worked too hard to see it all go public. How does My Family.com work? Although I like the keeping our genealogies in Ranchos 1 and all other info in Ranchos 2 idea better. My ever-humble opinion. Since when has a Jaliciense ever been humble? Irma
