Retoños de España en la Nueva Galicia

Anyone know of where I can get copies of Retoños de España en la Nueva Galicia, or who may be willing to part with their set?

marty

Esther,
Retoños translates to shoots or sprouts. The title of Mariano González Leal’s book, Retoños de España en la Nueva Galicia, could be translated to something like, Spanish Sprouts (descendants) in New Galicia.

There might have been a newer post about someone offering copies, but this is the only conversation I found. However, I went to the library and had them ordered. I was not prepared for the size of the volume (s) some have two and they only let you have one Tomo at a time, for a limited time with no extra time given. So if you know someone close by who is also interested he/she can order them as well. together you both would have a better chance to review the volume(s).

This was a conversation about them.

Danny you can go to your public library where they will help you with information to order one of the book or books in that volume. All you need is your library card and a library who is willing to lend it to you. I had the University of Chicago, but I had to wait a long time for each volume/s. I pretty much have ordered quite a number of different other books, unfortunately not many libraries are willing to share there collections. However when you are in college we use to have a special code to get articles and books in the college library. Good Luck.

You can go to worldcat to see which places have the collection near you. You will need some of the following information to order it.

Alas,

the only copy I can find is in Southern California. The cost is $760.00.

too rich for my blood. I even contacted the author and he said to just grab that last copy.

I tried to email again but no response. A large library on www.worldcat.org is your best bet to locate a copy of the ten volume set.

The la central public library in downtown Los Ángeles has a set for ur viewing. You cannot check them out but they have a great genealogy section where you can spend hours.
