End of July 2025 - NuestrosRanchos Update

All,

Backups:
Drupal end of July 2025 backups of files and databases were successful.

Production Version Updates:
The following website software status:
Drupal remains at version 11.2.2.  The Linux kernel was updated to version 6.8.0-71 (short
reboot required). PHP remains at version 8.4.10.  MariaDB remains at version 11.4.7. The
Ubuntu operating system remains at version 24.04.2.

Software Patches:
Patches made to the NR Forum module (see the testing area below for explanation).

Software Configuration changes:
The changes made to the Fail2ban and SpamAssassin email software configuration has
further reduced email spam to our roundcube email system. More Spam email messages
are finding their way to the Spam folder now. 🙂

Testing - Drupal 11:
The test site is operating without any major issues at tstsite1.top.

Had to make several patches to the Forum module due to upgrading to PHP 8.4.10. This was
applied first to the test system, and then the production system. There was some PHP code in
the Forum module that was deprecated (no longer valid), that was giving our system a warning
when updating.  The patches were applied, and the system warnings have been eliminated.

There are several AI modules that have recently been added to the Drupal modules section.
I have not yet began to test, but just updating all that they are beginning to make there way to
CMS applications such as Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress...etc.  There are a few in particular that
could be useful. The first AI Module is named Writesonic, which provides analytics (site visits,
active users, etc), and the second is named Dify, which can be used for chatbox. The chatbox
can allow a user to ask a question and receive answers from those online.  I kinda look at Dify
as a hot topic area.  Anyway, I may be loading these on the test site in the future, just to see
how they interact with the site.

Alpha/Beta testing for Drupal version 11.3 will not begin until October of this year, with the
production version on track to go live in the month of December.  Most changes will involve
enhancements to the API (Application Programming Interface). Enhancements to the
Navigation areas of Drupal, and Announcements feed will also be forthcoming.

Albums Update:
The final Members and Group Meeting Photos section remains at about 40 percent complete.
