I went to Sevilla and also went to the Archivo.  You just do not walk
in.  You need letters, pictures.....then you will get a card which will
allow you in....

I was looking for census records....they were in the Guadalajara
Archives.....they can be obtained in Mexico City....I got the 1777
Durango Census from Archivo de las Indias....

Have you checked with the Archives in Mexico City?  Also, you may be
able to find them in the church records.
