Ola to all Ranchos Members, My name is Yolanda Gomez, and I am married to Jose Nicolas Gomez. Jose was born in Mexticacan, Jalisco. Mexico in 1947, and we still visit Mexticacan, Yahulica, Los Charcos, Jalostitlan, etc. I will post his genealogy, which is only to his great-great parents, however he has the names of aunts and uncles of his parents and grand-parents. His grandfather is still alive and lives near Mexticacan. Both his parents are still alive, however they relocated to Guadalajara, however remain in close contact with family and friends in Mextcicacan, Yahulica, etc. I hope to learn from each of you. Yolly

Jessica: I think you are going to have somewhat of a difficult time since I think that the Valparaiso films are not indexed in familysearch. I know that Ed Serros is researching family in that parrish so he can probably give you some better tips about what to do, but it may entail simply ordering the films and going through them. Many of the books from the 19th century have indexes by name, so perhaps it is not as daunting as it may seem. Good luck. --- In ranchos@yahoogroups.com, "jesscast1212" <migranted@b...> wrote: > > Hi all, > My name is Jessica Castaneda. Hi all, My name is Jessica Castaneda. I am just starting to try and do genealogy research on my husbands family from Zacatecas, Mexico. I have worked on my lines before but I feel I am in a completely new ballpark now. I have been reading your postings and am excited to be able to learn from you all. A little bit about myself- I have a one year old who is currently teething, my husband and I are in the process of buying a house and moving, and I work coordinating educational programs from migrant children in TN. I met my husband teaching English. That's enough about me.. What I know about my husbands family is this. (not much) His fathers name is Crescencio Castaneda-Salazar. Mothers name is Juana Hernandez de Leon. They currently reside in Chihuahua but his father was born in Valparaiso Zacatecas Mexico. Crescenio's father was Antonio Castaneda-Dominguez although some say it was Castaneda- Martinez. His wife's name was (this is where it gets confusing) some say Teodora Salazar others say Ignacia Domingez. Antonio's father was Pedro Castaneda and mother was Ignacia Domingez. They tell me there were two Ignacia Dominguez's but I am skeptical. Everyone seems to tell me different things. They resided in Valparaiso. Crescensio's brothers name is Benancio Soccorro Castaneda. Well that's all I know now. Hopefully in the near future I will have more information to share. If anyone has any information that you think would be helpful I would appreciate any and all of your thoughts! Thanks.

Hi I am researching my son's ancestors from Colotlan, Jalsico, Mexico. I have hyphen the last names of his ancestors so it would be easier to indentity the last names and middle names. Hope this is not a problem. If there is a error, please let me know. His grandparents Luis Huizar-Gaeta born Colotlan, Jalsico, Mexico died January 2000. and Maria Guadalupe Munoz-Gaeta from Tulimic, Colotlan, Jalsico, Mexico about 1993 in Tulimic, Colotlan, Jalsico, Mexico Luis Huizar-Gaeta Parents: Fermin Huizar-Rodriguez and Valentina Gaeta-Carrillo G-Parents: Canuto Huizar-Perez (ancestors unknown) and Maria Marcadia de Rodriguez-Hernandez GG-Parents: Gabino Rodriguez-Guillermo and Marta Hernandez (ancestors unknown) Maria Guadalupe Munoz-Gaeta Parents: Jesus Munoz (ancestors unknown) and Maria Soledad Gaeta-Lopez G-Parents: Andres Gaeta and Maria Cruz Lopez (ancestors unknown) I was told that Valentina Gaeta-Carrillo and Maria Soledad Gaeta- Lopez was related. I would like to find more ancestors and I would like to know if someone know where the Huizar's came from. I have been told that they might be related to the Spaniard Dutch that have the last name of Huizen or Van Huizen. Please check out my file T. Remaly's ancestors. Thank you Roseholly

Welcome Arnoldo! My grandma is from Totatiche, as well as her ancestors. I have quite a bit of info, so maybe we can share notes to see if we're cousins. Many people from Totatiche are related to each other. Once you post your genealogy, I'll be able to see if you're related. Check out my files too! Stella and I are cousins, and we met through this group! Rosalinda --- In ranchos@yahoogroups.com, Arnoldo Garcia <hdeconejos@y...> wrote: > Hello, > Just joined this group.
