OK, then, Joseph,
How do you write and pronounce all those subsequent
generations: primera, secunda, tercera, (I don't know how to
say the rest). Also, why is pentabuelo listed as antepasado de 6th
generation when "pent" means "five" to me. It looks like the pentabuelo
should go with "5th". I did like the list though since it tells me what
comes after abuelo and bisabuelo, etc which I didn't know before.
Thanks,
Emilie Garcia

my email address is

but just call me Joseph because makas means scissors and isn't my
name.
As far as I know there isn't any generally accepted alternative
to the Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Great Great Grandfather, etc
designations.
there is this in spanish:

DEAR MAKAS:
IS THERE A SYSTEM OTHER THEN USING THE "GREAT" WORD TO NUMBER
SITUATION IN THE LINE? WOULD IT BE CORRECT, INSTEAD, TO NUMBER AS
FALLOWS: SON, FATHER-MOTHER, GRANDPARENTS, GREAT-GRANDPARENTS, AND
THEN MENTION THEM AS THIRD-GRANDPARENTS, FOURTH-GRANDPARENTS AND
SO FORTH? I THINK THAT WAY IT'S EASIER TO VIEW THEIR PLACES IN THE
GENS LINE.
