My mother's name is Nemecia. Yes, with a c, and she hated the fact that people always told her it should be spelled with an s, and that it was a man's name. She and all of her siblings were named after her saint's name. In other words, my abuelito would look at his Catholic calendar for a name when his child was born. I am John Gonzalez, or if you prefer, Juan Gonzalez. My custom license plate is: 1Gnzlz (One Gonzalez) =sounds like Juan Gonzalez. There are four Juan Gonzalez in my great grandfather's line, I am number five. (Boring. Lack of imagination? or just trying to perpetuate the name ?) None of my kids are named John.
