Hello, Gloria. To be honest with you, I was not sure where Autlan de 
la Grana was, but I assumed that it was close to Autlan de Navarro. 
Well, I did some extra google 'research' and found out where Autlan 
de la Grana actually is. Autlan de la Grana is not only close to 
Autlan de Navarro, but IT IS actually Autlan de Navarro. How old is 
your great-grandparents notebook? The town's original name was 
Autlan de la Grana, but according to a page that I read, it changed 
to Autlan de Navarro on July 27, 1939 to honor General Paulino 
Navarro. Even though the name of some communities oficially change, 
some people still use the old name. 
This has nothing to do with your question, but just as a curious 
fact, I noticed that my Apodaca ancestors have lived for at least 
two centuries in a small town in Jalisco called Santa Catarina. If 
someone knows that his/hers own ancestors are from Santa Catarina, 
but does not know where this village is, he/she will never find it 
on a current map. Thank God, I know where the place is, and know 
that the two barrios of Santa Catarina were oficially renamed as 
Benito Juarez and General Andres Figueroa after the Cristero War. 
Even though Santa Catarina Jalisco does not exist in the oficial 
maps, everybody from that area still use that name, and rarely, very 
rarely, they use the official name "General Andres Figueroa". I 
write this because I have a somewhat detailed map of Jalisco, and 
was looking around Autlan de Navarro for Autlan de la Grana when I 
saw your message. I could not find la Grana on the map and finally I 
gave up, but I found the actual place on the internet. This is the
