Relationship between Beltran de la Cueva Velasco and Ana Flores de la Torre

Greetings to all,

I am fairly new to genealogical research, but I am trying to establish solid proof a one particular line going back 15 generations. I have been able to establish many of the generations, but I am having some trouble with a few. I have searched this site (and others) and have read many of the forums on this site, which offered great help, but have not been able to locate documentation for some generations. I only included marriage dates for the moment, but can include other information, if needed. I will follow with the generations I am trying to link and find documentation for. I also realize that some names may vary as individuals sometimes shortened or used a variation of their surnames. Below is the lineage starting with myself:

  1. Gabriel Brambila
  2. Gabriel Brambila married Francisca Mendoza
  3. Gabriel Brambila married Sulema Garza in 1949
  4. Gabriel Brambila married Josefina Garcia y Reyna in 1908
  5. Jose Felipe Brambila married Florencia Contreras Cuevas in 1880
  6. Jose Luis Brambila married Maria Feliciana Fregoso
  7. Jose Casildo Brambila married Maria Rita Rafaela de la Paz Garcia in 1828
  8. Jose Bernadino de la Brambila de la Cueva married Maria Josefa Gomez
  9. Jose Reyes de la Brambila married Margarita de Jesus de la Cueva de Benavides in 1763 in Tecolotlan, Jalisco
  10. Juan de la Cueva de Mora married Rosalia Antonia Benavides Guido in 1741 in Tecolotlan, Jalisco
  11. Juan Beltran de la Cueva married Juana de la Mora in 1711 in Tecolotlan, Jalisco
  12. Beltran Fernandes married Tomasa (Tomasina) de Velasco de la Cueva in 1684 in Tecolotlan, Jalisco
  13. Francisco de Velasco y Temiño married Geronima de la Cueva; they lived in Tecolotlan, Jalisco
  14. Alonso de Velasco y Zuniga married Ana Flores de la Torre y Temiño; they lived in Juchipila, Zacatecas
  15. Diego Flores de la Torre married Angela Temiño de Velasco
  16. Pedro Pacho Rodriguez married Maria Ana Temiño de Velasco Alcocer y Bañuelos

As I mentioned above, I have been able to make a connection, with documentation, for many of the above generations (1 - 10). I am having trouble showing, with documentation (birth/baptism/marriage records), the connection for the following generations (11 - 14):

11. Juan Beltran de la Cueva was the son Beltran Fernandes and Tomasina de Velasco de la Cueva

12. Tomasina de Velasco de la Cueva was the daughter of Francisco de Velasco y Temiño and Geronima de la Cueva

13. Francisco de Velasco y Temiño was the son of Alonso de Velasco y Zuniga and Ana Flores de la Torre y Temiño

14. Ana Flores de la Torre y Temiño was the daughter of Diego Flores de la Torre and Angela Temiño de Velasco

If anyone can assist it would greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for the help,

Gabe Brambila

Durango Researcher Javier R. Avitia

Does anyone know how to contact Javier R. Avitia?  He has a database of thousands of individuals from Canelas, Durango, Mexico.  I mention this here because I believe a number of you do research in Durango.  I have found his posts online , but no way of contacting him.  The post are 17-25 years old.  He did live in Los Angeles.  I have made attempts to find him with no luck.  He definitely has lines I am researching.  Please let me know how to contact him or his relations or ask him to contact me.  Thanks.          celeste@agabra.com

Marquez Ledesma in San Miguel el Alto

I have found a Nieves Ledesma marrying Jesus Marquez(f.Felipe Marquez/mom Susana Martin) in 1840 and having a child with Jose Ana Marquez in 1841, both in San Miguel el Alto.  I believe they are part of Jose Joaquin Gutierrez de Laris(b~1689)/Cecilia Martin line.  Is there anyway I can confirm this is the same man?  The only time Nieves is listed with Jesus and not Jose Ana is the marriage and I can find no marriage for Nieves and Jose Ana.

Orosco families in Arandas, Jalisco

I am a descendant of Dr Jeronimo Orosco from Seville, Spain. My 3rd great Grandmother was an Orosco from Arandas. My grandmother has always said she had a close relative that was Jewish, but didn't know exactly who. My grandmother has 5% Jewish DNA.

I was watching a You Tube video on Hacienda San Sebastian and in the beginning of the video, the narrator stated that the owners of this hacienda, who were Oroscos, were Jewish Conversos. I know most of these Orosco families during that time, were related. Does anyone have any confirmation that they were indeed Jewish?
