Help finding lost dispensa

There is a dispensa that I misplaced notes or more likely didn't take notes on it. It lists two brothers: one Bernardino de Isla and the other Bernardino de Sandoval. From what i recall, the visual writing makes it liking between 1700 and 1750, and the relationship was in the narrative form within a paragraph (not separate from paragraph and listed line by line) and likely on the first page. The location was likely either Nochistlan, Teocaltiche, Tepatitlan, or Jalostotitlan.

I have tried searching the dispensas again, but have not found it, which makes me think it might be from a marriage information or from some other location.

Way to show 400 years of family

Does anyone have an easy way to show 15+ generation pedigree for relatives that are curious about from where we immigrated, but don't want to spend much time looking at it?  You know the ones, they are not into genealogy, but they are interested in the direct line all the way back to the 1500's.  Some of those pedigree charts get really small.  Is there something on multiple pages that I could lay out on a table?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Relationship between Beltran de la Cueva Velasco and Ana Flores de la Torre

Greetings to all,

I am fairly new to genealogical research, but I am trying to establish solid proof a one particular line going back 15 generations. I have been able to establish many of the generations, but I am having some trouble with a few. I have searched this site (and others) and have read many of the forums on this site, which offered great help, but have not been able to locate documentation for some generations. I only included marriage dates for the moment, but can include other information, if needed. I will follow with the generations I am trying to link and find documentation for. I also realize that some names may vary as individuals sometimes shortened or used a variation of their surnames. Below is the lineage starting with myself:

Jose Rafael Orozco's wives

Has anyone found the marriage of Jose Rafael Orozco/Orosco and Maria Guadalupe Vargas/Bargas?  Most likely in San Miguel el Alto, 1810-1817.

Is the Rafael Orosco that married Maria Ignacia Martin in 1824 the same Rafael Orosco that married Maria Guadalupe Bargas?  Ma Guadalupe died in 1822.  Her son, Jose Bitor Orosco Bargas has paternal grandparents listed in his baptismal record as:

Jose Alejo( Bargas) y Orozco and Maria de San Juan Hernandez

The Rafael Orozco/Maria Ignacia Martin line seems to be well researched, but I have not come across mention of a Ignacia being a second wife.

Any confirmation that I am coming to the correct conclusion that these is the same Rafael Orozco would appreciated.

More on the ancestry of Alonso de Estrada

Hola prim@s,

This is the Ejecutoria del pleito de hidalguía filed by Licenciado Diego Hernández de Vergara, dated 12 Jul 1548: http://pares.mcu.es:80/ParesBusquedas20/catalogo/description/5703246
Licenciado Vergara was a 1st-cousin of treasurer & governor Alonso de Estrada, according to the very detailed genealogy given by Estrada’s cousin, Mari Fernández Hidalgo, in the 1585 limpieza of Jorge de Alvarado y Villafañe: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS2D-KSYH?cat=630488
The genealogy given in this document coincides perfectly with that genealogy. It even goes back one more generation, and names Licenciado Vergara’s (and Estrada’s) great-grandfather as Juan Alonso, vecino de Ciudad Real (who apparently received a carta ejecutoria de su hidalguía from King Pedro de Castilla). Here’s what the family tree now looks like:

1st generation: Juan Alonso cc ?

2nd generation: Diego Hernández Hidalgo cc Mari González de Estrada

Najar Lujano in San Miguel el Alto/Arandas

I have hit a wall in my Najar line with Casimiro Najar Lujano.  He was born ~1810 and married Maria Petra Rodrigues in 1830 in Arandas.  His parents are Jose Angel Najar and Maria Nieves Lujano.  This is where I stop.  Any help from "cousins" or suggestions on where to look would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Durango Researcher Javier R. Avitia

Does anyone know how to contact Javier R. Avitia?  He has a database of thousands of individuals from Canelas, Durango, Mexico.  I mention this here because I believe a number of you do research in Durango.  I have found his posts online , but no way of contacting him.  The post are 17-25 years old.  He did live in Los Angeles.  I have made attempts to find him with no luck.  He definitely has lines I am researching.  Please let me know how to contact him or his relations or ask him to contact me.  Thanks.          celeste@agabra.com

Jalisco and Zacatecas Ancestors

Hello all!

I have just recently (last 6 months) started looking into my family history. All four of my grandparents came to the US from Mexico between 1916 and 1922.

My father's paternal line is from Jalisco, mostly Lagos de Moreno and Etzatlan. I've hit a wall on his maternal side. I can't get beyond his mother's parents.

My mother's family is from Zacatecas. Her maternal line has roots in Sombrerete. But on her paternal line, I can't get beyond her grandparents.

I have subscribed to Ancestry, which has helped in addition to Family Search. Are there digital archives from these states/cities in Mexico that we can access? Would appreciate any tips.

Thanks!

Marquez Ledesma in San Miguel el Alto

I have found a Nieves Ledesma marrying Jesus Marquez(f.Felipe Marquez/mom Susana Martin) in 1840 and having a child with Jose Ana Marquez in 1841, both in San Miguel el Alto.  I believe they are part of Jose Joaquin Gutierrez de Laris(b~1689)/Cecilia Martin line.  Is there anyway I can confirm this is the same man?  The only time Nieves is listed with Jesus and not Jose Ana is the marriage and I can find no marriage for Nieves and Jose Ana.

Avila Huizar

Need help, can't find any info on my great grandfather or anyone before him.  I was told that my great grandfather Alfredo used his mother's maiden name Avila and Huizar - Paternal - Alfredo Avila Huizar from Jerez, Zacatecas. Anyone with info or where to look please do so.  I would greatly appreciate it.

Orosco families in Arandas, Jalisco

I am a descendant of Dr Jeronimo Orosco from Seville, Spain. My 3rd great Grandmother was an Orosco from Arandas. My grandmother has always said she had a close relative that was Jewish, but didn't know exactly who. My grandmother has 5% Jewish DNA.

I was watching a You Tube video on Hacienda San Sebastian and in the beginning of the video, the narrator stated that the owners of this hacienda, who were Oroscos, were Jewish Conversos. I know most of these Orosco families during that time, were related. Does anyone have any confirmation that they were indeed Jewish?

Rosalio Onate

I've been a Nuestros Ranchos member for about 18 years.  Any information on my great-grandfather Rosalio Onate b. about 1856 Villa Garcia, Zacatecas, his father Pablo Donate b. about 1824 Agostadero or Asientos, Aguas., and Bernabe Donate b. about 1800, also from Agostadero or Asientos, Aguas. would be greatly appreciated.  I've searched several years with no avail for definitive dates and places of birth.  Thank you all so much,  Alice B Blake

RUIZ DE ESPARZA EN SAN LUIS POTOSÍ

Has anyone else noticed that in San Luis Potosi, there was a man named Lope Ruiz de Esparza, living there as early as 7 June 1644? On that date, in the parish of Nra Sra de la Asuncion de Tlaxcalilla, he married Elena de la Cruz, who according to other records, lived in the home of Martin Navarro, on whose rancho and carbonera this couple would live for years, said to be his “criados.”

They had at least 4 children:
1. Josepha Ruiz Cruz, b. 02 Apr 1645, San Luis Potosi
2. Domingo Ruiz Cruz, b. 02 Apr 1646, San Luis Potosi
3. Francisca Ruiz de Esparza, b. 08 Dec 1648, San Luis Potosi, m. Francisco Delgadillo aka Juan Delgado, 7 Jan 1664, San Luis Potosi
4. Pedro Ruiz de Esparza Cruz, b. 27 Aug 1651, Aguascalientes, m. Juana Prieto Gallardo, 20 Oct 1671, San Luis Potosi.

Around August 1676, Elena de la Cruz died, and on 8 Feb 1678, in San Francisco de Pozos SLP, Lope Ruiz married his second wife, Elena de Acosta y Gogorron.
