Hello Nuestros ranchos,I have come to a road block with my grandparents on my mothers side of the family. My grand father Lucio Carrillo was born in Tepechitlan, Zacatcas around 1899.
Hello
Lucio was my great grandfather and was born from 1899 to 1900. If you have any questions feel free to email me at gumecindoe@gmail.com
Joseph, the email below that you received from Jose Maria Vallejo Mercado was spam.

https://www.familysearch.org/search/image/show#uri=https%3A//api.family…
Nuevamente Gracias,
Roberto Hdez
You can leave the given name slot blank and just write the surname. That still works.

Joseph, I think I had a momentary connection problem after all. I tried the

Im trying to find this individuals birth or marriage records help please thanks?
Abram
You are fortunate to have ancestors from Nochistlan for two reasons: (1) the state of the church records is excellent, and (2) the baptisms have been extracted to 1875, and marriages to 1885.
Go to https://www.familysearch.org/
In the window you will see boxes for first and last name, Enter "Jauregui" in the last name box.
Immediately below this is a line that begins with "Search by Life Events"; click on marriage. A new line will open asking for a location, and a date range.
For location, type "nochistlan, zacatecas, mexico," it is not necessary to capitalize the place name. Accents are not required.
If you press search at this point, you will get more than 49,000 results. Too many. So you need to narrow down the search. From the search parameter window on the left of the screen, type in a date range (try 1870-1885) which would seem reasonable for this couple based on other information you have. This will give a smaller list, but still way too many.
You can narrow down

Abram,
To get to the digitized records for Nochistlan Zacatecas, go to the following address:
www.familysearch.org, click on USA, CANADA and MEXICO, >click on Mexico, > click on Mexico Catholic Church Records-Browse Images, 21 Dec, 2010 >click on Browse through 16,596,760 Images, > click on Zacatecas

This will bring you to a page with the index for the type of register you are searching for and for the range of the years such as Bautismos/Baptisms, Confirmaciones/Confirmations, Entierros/Burials, Informacion Matrimonial/These are marriage investigations. Matrimonios/Marriage Records and Procesos Matrimoniales/Marriage processes.
I hope this helps you.

thank you alicia thank you linda. Is there any way where i can skip all those thousands of records and just get to the one i need?
Abram
Records are in chronological order. If the record you need is in the middle of the date range of the volume, start your search in about the middle. Then move several images forward or back, depending how far the date of record you are are viewing is from the one you want, make either larger or smaller jumps. It just a matter of approximation and getting closer until you are at the right spot..

I was referring to the marriage records i wanted to find felipe armas and leonarda lozano marriage records so i clicked on 1874-1880 and their were tons of names in alphabet order and so i went to the f section and i found felipe armas married to leonarda lozano but from their on what was i suppose to do look through thousands of record page by page to find them.
I misunderstood your question.
The indexes may give you a record number: the first record in the volume is 1, next is 2, and so on. You just need to jump through the film until you get the one you need. Some films will have more than one volume of records, so don't make too big of a jump.
Some indexes will give you a folio number. That is, the front and back have the same number (this is sort of like numbering every other page of a book). The front will sometimes be identified as "21f" and the back as "21v". F = frente, and F = vuelta.
Some indexes will be by actual page number (this is the more modern records).
The first page of the index should identify the system they used.
Ocassionally there will be an error in the index. So, if you don't find your record, look a few pages before or after.

It's okay so where i found this info was on familysearch.org not nuestrosranchos.?
you make me smile.. if you find a way not to the grunt work let me know.. Sometimes we get lucky enough to find someone who's already working that surname or line. I know I have my files on Rootsweb.com complete with the film and page number on the later ones to help people like you who don't have the time to go page to page like I do..

Abram,
I don't know of another way to do it. Sometimes you get lucky or your have very precise information that leads you very close to the desired pages. Most of us do what we have to do to get the info and if it means page by page, well that's exactly what we have to do. Wish I could tell you otherwise. Enjoy the learning process. Those who are not willing to do the work just give up and quit genealogy.

Do like Patty said. The dates are in order a majority of the time, although
it isn't always the case. Since you are looking for 13 May 1879 in film

the last year in the book the record you are looking for should be towards
the end of that book. Since there 449 images in the book the record I went

so I jumped to 310. That has 18 de Febrero de mil ochocientos. Based on the
two previous records and their image number I assume each 10 images is a
period of one month for this book. So then I went to image 330. It is for
seis de Junio de mil ochocientos setenta y nueve. That means I went too far
after all. So going back 10 images to 320 it says treinta de Abril. So now
I know I have to go a few

I like Linda agree our Mendez line back until 1650 had kids very old, each generation started having kids around 40.
Though not too common to begin having kids at that age nothing is impossible in the world of genealogy.

Hello Nuestros Rancheros,
Hi Monica,
We all reach stalemates in our research. Some take years, hard work and perserverance and lots of patience. What I would do is continue researching your lines, if you can continue to advance on others, stick with those and resume with other lines. Somtimes, I find researching other lines in the same area, might give clues or hints on other lines. It can become difficult when everyone stays around the same general area. What I hate the most is having to back to the same film and review it a second time, so I started to extract microfilm of all spaniards, since about 98% of my lines are Spanish. I have a couple of mestizo, mulato, black, and native american lines. That way when I do advance I can easily check for Spanish and has been working so far. I do not know if I would recommend this method for you, since it is time consuming, but well worth it. I have been called a serious, but a crazy researcher.
In my family tree, there exists all ends of the spectrum, some were
Hello Daniel,
I use many different resources for research in (diciphering barely legible writting) and have produced many results on maternal side (espanoles de Jalisco y Aguascalientes) going back more than 7 generations (which has taken me 10+ years to compile) However on my fathers side (indios/mestisos, de Guanajuato) I keep hitting a wall. I know you are right and I must just be patient, research another branch, and revisit this search periodically. I suppose I am being impatient from years of researching my paternal ancestry to no avail, I was looking for a short cut but I will follow your advise and encouragement and persevere through the difficulty.
Thanks again so much!
Monica Ochoa
Monica,
I would suggest, being patient and review what you have already done. Plus make sure that for every event you have checked every resource for it. Such as a birth (have you checked both the civil register and the Parish records), Marriage (have you checked the Civil and parish records again, also have you checked both the marriage record and the marriage presentation). And make sure that you research every child and sibling in each family.
It took me, about ten years to find my wife's great-grandfather. And I finally found him while I was looking for the death record of one of his children.
So just be patient and through. And if you still would like to consult with a professional, I can give you the names of some researchers, or I can take a look at your family and give you some suggestions on where to research.
Also, it doesn't matter if the family was poor or well off. You can usually take any family line back several generations.
Jonathan Walker
Monica, Jonathan is correct, sometimes you will find information where you least expect it.. I had a Mulato ancestor who's mother was a slave and listed only as Maria Gertrudis on his records.. down the line I found a record where he and his mother were godparents and it listed his mother's last name. I never would have found it if I had not researched every one with the Rolon last name in that time period.. The ancestors will be found just have patience and don't overlook the strangest places for information.

Monica,
I agree with Jonathan and Erlinda,
Genealogical research takes lots of hard work and patience and with the hard work come the surprises. You don't know where your ancestors will turn up. It doesn't matter if they were poor or rich, they all hide in different places. Keep plugging along, listen to the words of wisdom and encouragement of experienced researchers and follow your instincts. That's why it's so important to do your own research. By way of your own research you develop a sense for the tracks that lead you to where your ancestors may be hiding. Not saying don't hire a professional, just saying that by doing so, it prevents you from knowing the region your researching, the extended familia that could lead you to your roots and the joy of finding that elusive long lost ancestor.
Happy hunting!

I appreciate your encouragement and advice. I suppose I just needed some reassurance from those who have had the same challenge. I have been reasearching my tree from the time I was a child and though I have made huge steps on my maternal side the paternal branches have all but dried up, despite my persistence. Which is why I have considered that perhaps I NEED a professional, BUT you are right there is more satisfaction in the journey, reading, researching and "playing detective" so to speak does give me the feeling of connection with my past family. I have learned so much about my ancestors, their culture and my own roots in the process that it would almost be sacrilege to do it any other way.
Thanks!

This record states that the burial took place on 21 Sep 1839 in Aguascalientes. The officiator was Dr. José Ignacio Pérez who sounds like the parish priest for limosna or those who could not afford the full funeral service, which usually was done free of charge or someone else took the debt. María Cayetana Espinosa was 40 years of age married to Cecilio Barrientos and was the legitimate daughter of Rafael Espinosa and María Francisca González. She actually died the
She died at 11pm.
Thank you for the translation. I appreciate it!
This death certificate brings more questions that maybe you could help me with. As it reads "de 40 anos". This man my 3x great-grandfather was married several times I am evaluating all of his marriage, children's baptismal, death etc. in search of relevant details as I have not located his birth or death certificates. This marriage certificate Cayetana (Calletana) and Cecilio states he was 22 and she 14 in May of 1834.

Could this be a discrepancy in the record, or am I mistaken is my research somehow? What do you think? (Other than this detail the information matches and I am just a bit confused.)
Best regards

Hello everyone,
I need some assistance please. If anyone is researching Tepechitlan, Tlatenango or El Teul, Zacatecas I am hoping you could help.
Edward,
I would say that "TAPIA María DE, mujer de FRANCISCO DE LUNA, español,
de 1637" refers to the death of Maria Tapia.

Help here wanted to know some of the people with surename Jauregui or Armas that lived in La Jabonera Nochistlan Zacatecas in the year 1850-1900
Abram
I've been looking into your research topic a bit, and I've discovered that the family of Margarito Armas and Macedonia Jauregui is listed in the 1930 Census for La Jabonera.
What makes it hard to find, is that it is indexed, incorrectly, under the name "Margarito Arenas." Everywhere in the extract below where it says "Arenas" should actually be "Armas." I think the image is actually pretty easy to read, but it was clearly mis-read.
The is what the index has:
Name: Masedonia Jauregui
Head of Household: Margarito Arenas
Age: 40a
Residence: La Jabonera, Nochistlán, Zacatecas, Mexico
Estimated Birth Year: 1890
Birthplace: Zacatecas
Gender: Female
Sexo: Mujer
Civil Status: Married both Civilly and in the Church

You think so when i first looked into that record i was petty sure that wasn't right because his last name is armas not arenas and i saw there signature in the 1930 census
some of the names look like arenas and some didn't so im really confused right now.
Abram Flores
Oh and my g grandfather wasn't shown in the census mauricio armas which was one of margarito's son.?
Abram
According to one of your earlier postings, Mauricio was married in the 1914/17 period, which suggests that he had his own household by this time, thus he would not necessarily be ennumerated in this household. This is actually confirmed in the 1930 Census for La Jabonera which shows his family with Visenta Munoz, and your grandfather J. Candelario Armas as the youngest in the family.
I did a search in Family Search for 'Mauricio Armas' by simply typing in his name and a person indexed as 'Mauricio Armas-Jaureg' comes up in the social security death index. He died in 1987, and was born 22 Sep 1905, but it didn't say where he was born. On a hunch, I thought he could be your gr-grandfather, thinking the name was truncated in the SSDI, and looked in the Nochistlan civil birth records. He is there, and the record names parents, Margarito Armas/Macedonia Jauregui, and all four grandparents Felipe Armas/Leonarda Lozano and Encarnacion Jauregui/Francisca Gonzales.
The Nochistlan

The records are all run together; but they all begin "En la ciudad ..."

Do you know where i can find jose encarnacion jauregui birth record or anything where i can reach his parents?or fransisca gonzalez birth record?
Hi Abram,
Based on the information that has been gathered thus far, I have a couple of finds. It looks like the two marriage dates, might have been one for the actual marriage and the second could be when they were veiled. I would suggest you look these up at www.familysearch.org under the Mexico Catholic Records Section for Zacatecas and Jalisco Catholic Records in order to advance. Other than that I belive your line has reached around 1825 over night. I find the period between 1850-present day, you really need to ask living members, find the information that you need. Once you reach pre-1850 you can usually find clues on familysearch. Always double check sources, something I am going back to make sure all is well. I wish you the best of luck in the exciting world of genealogy.

Estimado Enrique,

Hola R. A. Ricci:

Armando,
Thank you so much for the information and map sites. These places are mentioned in nearly all of the entries we search and it is wonderful to see where they are located. Do you have any idea the location of "La Estancilla", y "La Morenique" of Lope Ruis de Esparsa and Dona Francisca Gabai?
Thank you,
Deedra Corona
La Morcinique is the correct spelling for La Morenique which might be what
is now called Hacienda Nueva de Morcinique

There is an article on this one at
http://www.colmich.edu.mx/files/relaciones/021/pdf/JesusGomezSerrano.pdf
I have not been able to find anything that states that Hacienda Nueva de
Morcinique is the same one that was owned by Lope Ruiz de Esparza. I
suspect that they are one and the same though.
I can't find anything on La Estancilla at all. The word estancia is
synonymous with hacienda and there were a lot of places that were called La
Estancia and a few called La Estanzuela. Where specifically have you seen
"La Estancilla" mentioned?

There is a great 1839 church census in the area that includes many ranches.
