Hello everyone,

I agree with Francisco Raigosa and then a blank Miramontes, then Diego de Miramontes, but not the Francisco Poier. I think the "g" from Iglesia is coming down through the last letter making it only look like an "r" and I am not sure it is a "p" at the beginning. It would be nice to see how the scribe wrote his capital "P"s. Also, I am not sure of the "i" as the dot may be just part of the abbreviation symbol above it. It is definitely an abbreviated name, possibly he has two first names. Could it be "An" and the loop from the "n" is running backward into the "A", but then I cannot tell what the last two are possible an "e" for the second to the last. Any other guesses, Ane? This would be similar to the "An" in Ana Diaz, only the scribe was squishing things in at the end of the line of writing, so he was heavier on the pen.

You are right, I have looked at the scribes other "P's" and they look
very different. Wow and maybe it isn't an "i" either. Maybe he was a

Hello Joseph,
Hope everything is well with you. My son is keeping me busy with school but
I couldn't resist taking a look at your document. Are you sure your 7th
g-grandfathers name was Francisco Antonio ? I only ask because the A in Ana
(the next line down) looks completely different than what I see in the word
following Francisco.
"Poier" looks right but that little symbol above the "ie" looks like it
symbolizes an abbreviation ... I have no idea what Poier would be short for.
I know this isn't much help ... I'll keep looking at it - sometimes it takes
a while to get the feel of the handwriting.

I need some help in finding the grandparents of Jose Pioquinto Abalos, Bap. 16 May 1800 in Colotlan. His parents were Christobal Manuel Abalos and Justa Segunda Delgado. Thanks in advance,
Well since the grandparents aren't usually listed in the baptism records
before 1800 I'm not sure this will help but maybe the padrinos will
offer a clue. but the marriage record should definitely (not 100% sure)

Are you referring to Xalisco, Nayarit? If so, I have the 1689 census/padron.

When you do come across it, perhaps you could add it to our reference

Antonio,
Padron! That's it! Thank you guys!. As soon as I go back, order the microfilm and scroll through them and make copies of the census listing names of every single person at each rancho in our pueblo, I will post them up here.
When I had the copies, I was looking at the Rancho where my Great Great Grandfather was at.
Yolanda:
I am researching Jauregui (Jaurequi, as well as many other variations) My Jauregui's were in San Miguel El Alto records and also Valle de Guadalupe. I have two microfilms coming from the LDS for Valle de Guadalupe, Births 1904-1916 and deaths 1904-1942. If anyone wants me to look for anything in those files, let me know.
Wow Maureen,
I looks like we're after the same families. We must come from the same side of the tracks.
Dear Maria, did you get any of the records I sent? It has been a bit, and I
can't remember what I sent. I had not heard from you so I put the records
away. You are from the same family as my husband, so I have quite a few
members of your family. Please advise if you would like any of the
documents.

Hello my Nuestros Ranchos Family, I need help finding the parents of Francisco Xavier Covarrubias who was married to Ysabel Avila 30 May 1770 in Tlaltenango.
Lisa,
You are correct in your assumptions, when you look at the marriage information it says:
I don't recall de film but I think it is the same that you are looking into but the book is running on the opposite way, it means that the last record on the film will be feb 1770 but if you go back you will find march, april and so on.

Dear Group,
Is it possible to view TX death certificates dating 1980 and 1991 free online? I've got the death info--dates and place--from familysearch, but no images available to view. Other than
No, I don't believe so. By the way, as far as I know, the state of Texas will not release a Texas Death Certificate if the death occurred less than 25 years ago. The only exception is to immediate family members. If the death occurred more than 25 years ago, you can request a copy through the state: http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/vs/reqproc/deathcert.shtm for a fee. However, familysearch.org is the only free site that I know that has TX death certificates, but only for deaths up to 1976.
Rosalinda
Thanks Rosalinda. So those sites requiring fees couldn't offer them online anyway?!! Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Alice

I would like to index in the states of Jalisco or Zacatecas. Just
let me know how and when I can start.
Quiero participar!... hagame saber como.
Is it possible to index from the area we are researching, or is it random?
The way the indexing project will work is that at first there will be 10
or so projects within Jalisco, Zacatecas y/o Aguascalientes for us to
index. If we prove we are dedicated to the project then more and more
projects within Jalisco, Zacatecas y/o Aguascalientes will be made
available. Eventually to some degree I think we'll be able to find
projects for us to work on that are within our specific area of research
but that all depends on how well we do. Join the indexing and help us
move this forward.
van a abrir.

Thanks to the 15 people that committed to joining the indexing project.
If you still need people, I would also like to participate in the indexing project. If it's at all possible I would like to index in the states of Jalisco or Zacatecas. Just let me know how to get started.

Thanks to the 15 people that committed to joining the indexing project. I was
looking for 5% and got 2.5% is it possible that there are another 15 people out
there that would care to join in the indexing project? Be patient with me I'll
be asking for just a few more emails and then settle for what we have. I would
like 15 more people to join us in committing 30 minutes per week to this
indexing project for the states of Jalisco, Zacatecas y Aguascalientes.

Wow, I'm sure we're over the 5% I was looking for, THANKS! I'm waiting
for information from Rodolfo Derbez on setting up a chat for the small
group interested in indexing. There will be two chats, one in English
and one in Spanish but I'm waiting on the details. I'll soon take the
communication on this to private email with all those that volunteered.
In the mean time please take the two minute test drive:

Joseph,
Thank you for your reassurance, and please add me to the volunteer indexing project. Since Villa Garcia, Zacatecas is missing from the church records, I'd love to work on that if possible. Thanks again for all you do. Alice Blake

Sergio, thanks for sharing your images with us. That is precisely what this group is about! I noticed that one giving gesture begets another giving gesture. Let's hope that other members of Nuestros Ranchos see your example and also share what they have.
It's been my experience that giving info freely, ALWAYS comes back threefold! And we all benefit from that. You are a great example of this.
Saludos, y gracias.

Thanks Claudia,
I have received a lot from the people who make up "Nuestros Ranchos" that its time I return the favor.
I still have much more information from the visit I made to the Arzobispado de Guadalajara a few a weeks. As soon as I'm with organizing and optimizing the images, I will upload to my Hotmail Skydrive.
To augment the 1689 Padron, I have also added the 1650 Padron de Jalos.
Enjoy the valuable information.

Gracias Armando,
"The progenitor and patriarch of this distinguished family of hidalgos was a gentleman by the name of don Lázaro Martín del Campo (also known as Bartolomé de San Lázaro Martín del Campo). Don Lázaro, born around 1602, was a native of Revilla de Campos, province of Palencia, Castilla y León, España."
Un saludo

Hola Sergio,

Ronald,
Ignore those racial identifications. We know from christenings and marriage documents that they are incorrect. I have never seen the padron, and I am not sure if these were errors introduced in the original document, or when the padron was transcribed. Maybe Rose Hardy can illuminate on that.
Jaime Alvarado
I have transcribed Padrones from Jalostotitlan and sometimes the servents/slaves took the same names of the owner's kids. Maybe some are truly "negros". Only seeing the original padron can we really make sure.

Estimado don Armando:
mencionado

it is indicated that several people in that section were noted they were negro-Cristobal Tiscareno.Elvira Marquez,Juan Tiscareno,Luisa Tiscareno and so on. Was this an error or is this something new ?
