Brito genealogy

Is anyone in this group, except me, researching the Brito line?

Thanks! I tried it and it does work! But there are no new researchers for my husband's surname, only me and Stan and Gregg...

Comentario

Here is a good way to find an answer to this and other related questions
about locations both or researcher geographical locations and interest

1) log into the system
2) up in the right corner there is a search window
3) type a surname, persons name, username, location or whatever you're
looking for into the window and click
4) when the results come up you'll have four tabs to view results in:
Content, Notary Records, User Profiles and Users

Check all four and specifically to Earthchild Maries question when you find
a person doing similar research on a specific surname there you can contact
them via the website once you click that person's username (highlighted).

Let me know if this needs more explanation,

Joseph

I was recently researching the Totatiche Huizares as a favor for a friend of my father who is a Huizar.

I have gotten back as far as the early 1700s in Valparaiso with a certain Jose Huizar married to a Nicolasa Ysabel Sanchez. You can see my research here. I am sure Patricio Huizar is somehow linked to this tree:

Hello to all the researchers out there.

I am still trying to find information on my Acevedo Line. The farthest back I have gone is to 1773 in Tepetongo, Zacatecas.

Jose Toribio born about 1773 in Tepetongo, Zacatecas, married Trinidad Quesada. He also remarried after being widowed; to Maria Rita Almaraz on December 1830.

I have the following record from the earliest Tlaltenango Marriages film. She seems a bit old to be the mother of your Juan Jose Acevedo but I am sure there is some relationship... perhaps an aunt with the same name as the mother?

Hi Aida and Arturo,

If the Juan José de Acevedo married to Juana Maria Villegas is your
ancestor, then, your ancestry on that line is a follows:

Juan Jose de Acevedo, the son of Juan de Acevedo y Alarcón y Josefa Tello de
Orozco;

Juan de Acevedo y Alarcón, born in Cholula and christened on 16th April
1673, the son of Luis de Acevedo and Maria de Castañeda;

Josefa Tello de Orozco, the daughter of Juan Bautista Tello de Orozco and
Maria de Bañuelos or Pasillas;

Juan Bautista Tello de Orozco, born in Tlaltenango and christened on 24th
October, 1643, the son of Martin Tello de Orozco and Doña Lorenza Ortiz de
San Pedro y Haro;

Maria de Bañuelos or Pasillas, the daughter of Nicolas Rodriguez Pasillas
and Maria de Bañuelos.

There is more on Martin and Lorenza

In the book Silver Mining in Colonial Mexico: Zacatecas 1546-1700 (Peter John Bakewell, 1971, p. 64) i just read the following:
"Parrish registers for the period under examination seem to have disappeared altogether, apart from one mutilated register of births, confirmations and marriages..." If that period extended into the1700's it would explain why I cannot find them...

Myheritage is useless for research of Mexican ancestry. It is however an option for finding other people researching the same families just as any other genealogy website.

If you want to find other people researching lines that you are researching you should have your tree on all free genealogy websites such as the following -

www.Myheritage.es (formerly miparentela.com and allows an unlimited tree size unlike the English language site)
www.geneanet.org (used by many members here)
www.mundia.com
www.genoom.com

I have met other people researching some of the same lines through all of the above sites.

Roy,

I have this record, I have not linked it with anyone yet, but I believe it to be the same woman. In the baptismal records for Tlatenango, we find a Agustina baptized 18 May 1652 daughter of Martín Tello de Orozco and Lorenza Ortiz de Haro. I have been wondering if the two Lorenzas are the same person. Could Lorenza have fistly married Martín and then Bartolome de Luna y Tapia? I hope someone can contribute to this topic.

Luis,
I have maintained two separate lines for Lorenza, even though the names indicate they are the same person. My concern has been the fact that she would have been 12 years old when first married to Martin Tello de Orozco, and delivered her first baby around her 13th birthday. I know it's not impossible, but...
Here is my timeline:

"Bartholome Luna y Tapia's Ancestors
Submitted by arturoramos on Sun, 2009-04-05 02:56.
Hector:

I am sorry that it took me so long to answer your question about Bartholome de Luna y Tapia's ancestors. I am not certain about this as I do not have definitive documentation, but I am pretty certain that Bartholome's parents were:

Francisco DE LUNA and Maria DE TAPIA

and he had at least two siblings:
Luis LUNA, n. 1624
Ygnacio LUNA TAPIA

The combination of surnames and time period and location, as well as the fact that the marriage dispensation said that his wife was his third cousin, militates toward this being the same person. That would mean that Francisco DE LUNA and Hernando DE HARO were second cousins, so Maria DE HARO Y SAUCEDO and Francisco LUNA's father? had a pair of shared grandparents who were most likely Pedro BOBADILLA and Maria DE SAUCEDO, for whom Hernando DE HARO's mother was named."

Comentario

ok, it's too bad i don't know bartolome's grandparents name, then maybe i could figure out how they relate to each other(since there isn't defenitive proof to who their common ancestor was).

also, i wonder if maria de tapia is related the the alonzo de tapia mentioned in miguel caldera's will.

if want i could send you links to some marriage dispensations i found related the lopez de luna lineage. i personally descending from bartolo's sister isabel.

also bartolome's second wife was tomasa olague. tomasa was previously married to a man with the last name ayala. she had a son with that previous spouse , who i also descend from.

Hi cousins, I also descend from their daughter Cecilia Lopez de Luna. Anna, If you don't already have Arturo Ramos' Book "Familias Antiguas de Tlaltenango", I highly recommend it. He dedicates a couple of pages to her specifically, and you can piece many parts of her tree using his book. Also, research her ancestor (Beatrice Lopez de Ayala) whose surname she chose to carry instead of Ortiz de San Pedro.

The three bits of information I need to button up the lines are:

3. Miguel's father, Juan Antonio Pelayo's birth (ca 1700, Cocula or Ameca) .

Hello Maria. My name is Steve Apodaca. I've been researching my family tree for a few years and many of my family lines come from around Zacoalco de Torres, (Santa Catarina, los Pozos, Atotonilco el Bajo, la Ureña, Acatlan). Right now I'm researching my father's side of the family, but I can tell you that on my mother's side, I have some ancestors that came from Barranca de Santa Clara, especifically Frias. Also, I have Castro's on my family tree. I haven't researched that line a lot but I've got as far back as Jacoba Castro who married Santos Frias on April 16, 1856. Jacoba's parents were Urcino Castro and Micaela Madrigal. Further back, my Frias ancestors are metioned to be from la Barranca, and I suspect that my Castros may be from that area, since I notice many of them there. Who knows, we may be able to connect our family trees in the future through a common ancestor, but in the meantime, I'm glad to see another person from nearby Zacoalco researching her family tree.

Gracias!

I'm afraid that is more specific than I can tell you.  I did marriage and baptism records and noticed both those cities as places someone had come from.
I was researching Gutierrez and Mendez and related families from Tamazula, Jalisco

Where in Tamazula were the records, exactly?

Jesús

The Marriage of Jerónimo de Sierra and Ángela de Águila, in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas (Aug 8, 1668).

This dispensation is found in Arturo Ramos Pinedo's book, "Familias Antiguas de Tlaltenango" on page 74.

I had not really looked at the groom and bride till Luis and Roy pointed it out. Thank you for helping out Angelina, Luis, and Roy.

Hello, Nothankyou (I didn't see any other name)

I'd have to agree with your assessment of the names ... I definitely think
it says Talabera and NOT Cabrera ... and I cannot make out anything more
than "drada" for the madrina's surname either. Even the brides name is not
exact ... but enough is intact to make the connection to Aguila, the same
could be said for "drada" being Andrade, however, Estrada is a stretch for
me.

Luis
