3 Days of Free USA 1920 Census

Subject: [CA-ROSEVILLEGENSOC] Three daysonly! Free search of 1920 Census

http://www.searchforancestors.com/free1920census.html

This is a free three day search of the 1920 census records on Ancestry. No
free trial and no one will ask for a credit card number. Good on June 15th,
June 16th and June 17th

thanks Kitty Cortez for sending this

Don't be tempted to subscribe though. . .it seems to Kitty and I that www.godfrey.org for $35 per year is a much better Census subscription if anyone needs them.

I remember you asking members to

I finally got the film for
Jalostotitlan from the LDS and Iam about half way through looking at
it.  The film covers the period from 1872 to 1877 and it is for
baptisms.
I found my grandfather!  He was
born in 1875.  Now I am looking for his sister.  The only problem is
that I don't have her birthdate and am hoping that she was born within
a year or two of her brother

well I have seen 20 years between syblings. don't give up if you don't
find her within one or two years.

yes good luck, the frame by frame searching is great research. I hope
you put that film on permanent so you can revisit it from time to time.

De La Cueva genealogy, District of Jerez Zacatecas Mexico

We both had ancestors with the same last names
(Garcia, Acuna, Bautista, Reyes) in Jerez, in about
the same time frame. Hopefully, some day we can
connect them.

Keep up the good work.

New member

first tell me what software you are using.

if family tree maker make up a genealogy file and send it to me via a
.doc or .rtf file

I'll make a folder for you in our Briefcase and put a link to it in the
"links" area of the group.

it will be private to everyone in the group but not public.

make sure no one that is living is included in the report.

you should even consider excluding those that have previously have had SS#

privicy and ID theft are real concerns these days.

then send them to me.

i'll do the rest,

joseph

Photos from Joseph - Tek-Puentes and more...

That's an interesting website. Another way to keep photos online and
share them with others is by creating a yahoo or msn group for your
pictures. For example, this is the website where I place the photos
that I take when I visit Mexico so that all my relatives in both
countries can see them

Files Area

Hello to everyone.

Perhaps someone else had this problem. I tried to access the files
area through a link and it gives me a message "you are not the
moderator of this group".

Joseph, do you know why is that?

Joseph,

I have experienced the same issue. Can you help us on this one.

The option no longer shows up on the left side menu.

I believe you need to allow us download access, since technically
speaking when we view a file we are downloading it.

Thanks,
Angie

Photos from Joseph - Tek-Puentes and more...

Joseph,

This worked, then I clicked on Tek Puentes, and a page came up that said Log In or Just Show Me the Pictures.  I saved this page to My Favorites, so hopefully I will be able to peruse your album later.

Sorry about the previous email. It seems as if I don't have a handle on how to invite people to view my photos on webshots. . .hopefully this will work. I'm just doing this to show that there are free options available for photo uploads. I'd hate for anyone to think they missed out with regards to the "Photo" section of the group being closed.

My Webshots Phots URL

Hi, Joseph,
I couldn't access your Webshots.

Okay we're at 80 capacity for the Files area and I've closed that as
well. Its still open for those that are listed, but you'll have to
upload/modify/download via your friendly Moderator (pues soy yo). I've
done this because any new members that are entering the group will have
their genealogies placed in the Groups Briefcase and a link to it placed
in the "Links" area of the group. The remaining 20% in our files area
will be used for the ongoing update and addition of new files for those
that are currently listed there. IF existing members who have files in
the files area need any kind of upload or modification let me know and
I'll be there to help with it. Sorry for the inconvenience we are
experiencing as we grow.

Please let me know if you have any trouble accessing the files area. I
picked the option for Moderators only to have upload/modify/download
access. I surely didn't mean for the files not to be available for
viewing. Time will tell if this is the case (I think not).

Photos are Full/Other Options

We are near capacity in the photos section. Have a look as we have some
very nice photos of the various members and their families. There is now
a Los Altos section listed under Steven Hernandez. thanks Steven.

Anyway the point is that I'd like to have the uploading of photos to the
"photos" section stopped at this point. There are quite a few options on
the net to upload your photos onto their sites for free. You can upload
your photos and have them all ready and then provide a link in the
"links" area [see links and see folder named "Photos-Members"].

here is the free photo site I use:
http://daily.webshots.com/scripts/signup.fcgi

note that they would rather collect your money but I always choose the
"free" option.

So from now on upload your fotos to your hearts delight and then provide
a link in the links area. . .the photos area is closed.
