So how about everyone putting their pictures in "ONE" folder with

if it does our space problem is solved probably forever and me having to ask the members for $1 per year to purchase file space will not be necessary. (something I was thinking about).  Let's hope that 10 of you succeed in opening my briefcase.

If it does open well I'm going to start putting new member genealogies in my briefcase and linking to them in the "links" area. I will reserve the other 20% of remaining space in the current files area for updates to the genealogies currently present.

PLEASE at least 10 of you go and do the above and email back if you were successful, not successful or experienced some kind of problem. You will have to know your own Yahoo ID and Password to get in,
but you needed to know that to access any part of the files or links areas anyway.

Dear Joseph,

I clicked on AntonioPuenteAnnaPlacencia3 and a word doc opened up. Some of the text's type was a little small and cramped but for the most part it was okay. Marge V.

otaining a Freedom of Information Act

...no problem Jose.  I have used it a many a times for my personal use also.  The farthest back records that I received so far, were from 1907.  I knoew they came across somewhere in Texas but had no idea where.  So I sent it off to the INS Regional office in Mesquite, Texas.  It took about 4 months, but I finally did receive it.  It always helps, if you know about what area of the country your kin entered.  Good luck and please keep us informed...

Huerta Surname - Zacatecas

Hi Angie,
I have not been able to locate Vicente Huerta's parents. Vicente was
born in 1824 and he was married to Maria Justo Navarro who was born
in 1828. The only child I have so far is my great great grandfather
Secundino Huerta who was born in 1852. He married Maria Josefa
Rodela, born in 1852. Their child, my great grandfather, was Otilio
Huerta born in 1888.

If anything sounds familiar, let me know.
Maria

Huerta Surname - Zacatecas

Hello Maria,

I am also researching the Huerta Surname. I can trace my family to
Jose Guadalupe Huerta married to Juana Maria Sandoval on March 8, 1788
in Momax, Zacatecas. This family later moved to the Colotlan, Jalisco
area. Do you happened to know the name of Vicente Huerta's wife,

Good luck on your search,

old to the group but haven't submitted your information please consider doing it
now. Here are Angie Godina's Instructions on what you need to do. If you have
any additional questions please direct them to: aajay1073@...

---------------------------------

Thanks to everyone who entered their information. I think it will
become very benificial to all of us.

What I think is good about the database is that when you open it up,
you are given that "Search This Table" input box. If you type in a
surname or a location, it lists out all the people searching that
surname and or location. A very useful feature, be sure to try it.

The fields in the table are: Name
Email Address {optional}[but provide it anyway, jp]
Research Surnames    {Surnames you are researching.}
Research Location    {Cities, Towns, Ranchos that your ancestors are from.}
My Location    {Your current location - optional}

So once you are on the database page you just select the 'Add Record'
link. Enter your information. Then select the 'Add Record' button.
You should then be able to see your record in the table. The edit
link will allow you to modify your record at any time.

That should do it...

Thanks,
Angie

P.S. Isn't it kind of convenient that my record shows up first. I,
of course, planned it that way...

I used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain the petition and
naturalization papers of my Dad.  Those documents contained quite a bit of
information -- his wife's name, where he was living, his race, his employment
career, children he had had, the port he used to come into the United States,
etc.  It helped quite a bit, but unfortunately, what I was looking for was
not correct.  He indicated he was born in Nuevo Laredo, but I found out he
used that city only because he had relatives there and didn't know where or when
he was born.  However, if the information had been correct, it would have
provided valuable information regarding his past.
