When I met him in November 2000, he did not. However, his friend and kinsman (and mine, too), Leonardo de la Torre Berumen has email (just look in Somos Primos). Leonardo has written many articles for SP. Marge:)

My impression is that Villa de León in your records refers to what is
now the city of León, Guanajuato.

You can locate it in the neighboring state of Jalisco, right across
the border from Lagos de Moreno.

I'm doing records from Zapotlan El Grande Jalisco and am finding 
families from Villa de Leon Mexico.. any idea where that is?  I 
checked the wonderful location dictionary but found nothing. The time 
period is early to mid 1700's.  The families are Losa y Linares, 
Sanches de la Mejorada and Lopes de Lara and Alcaraz.

I HAVE THE PAF VERSION 4.0.4

How about lists of archives in the US that have materials on our target
area.

for example I know UC Berkeley has an extensive amount of information
Duke has many books but I wouldn't call it extensive
I would guess there are other store houses of info

also how about some kind of resources about the major archives in
Mexico. I know there is great resources in Guadalajara but if I was
going there tomorrow I wouldn't know where to look and what type of
materials to look for. I also know that there is great resources in
Mexico City that are probably duplicates of information that is in
certain archives in Spain. Doesn't the Mexico City archive(s) have
certain parts of the Archivo de Indias. I'd love to know what needs to
be ordered from Spain and what could be accessed in Mexico City.

Well I'm just rambling. . .maybe others have more doable ideas,

si no lo tienes mandamelo en un documento de "Word."

has mirado los arboles de los miembros en los "Files?" si no miralos
para que miras unos emjemplos de los arboles de otros en el grupo.

Does Mr. Bernardo del Hoyo Calzado have an email
address? I've read his book for a copy of years, and I
also want to the Dolores cemetery when I visited Jerez
a couple of years ago.

For those of you, who what to goto conference in Salt Lake.  It is
well worth your time and money.  They usually have a good speaker.
On a side note,  Mickey's talk two years ago, was really great.

Plus there usually are classes that are taught by:  George Ryskamp,
Lyman Platt, & Ruth Schirmacher (these are some of the regulars). 
Also Mimi Lozano has taught some years.  The remainder of the classes
are taught by people, from the LDS Family History department, and
other members of the Legado Latino.

The last two years, they have given out a disc called the "Latina
America Resource disc",  which has all the research helps that the LDS
 Church has for Latin America, in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

And they only charge $10.00, for admission.

Their website, is currently down.  It comes and goes, especially
around October, when the have their conference.

If anyone, wants to come.  I be glad to come and see you.

The info you describe below is incorrect......Mickey Garcia was a speaker two years ago at this conference and that is when Mimi Lozano received her award.  Mickey will not be a speaker this year.....in fact, Mickey and I will be in Salt Lake City doing research in September.....  Hopefully, next year we will make it for the conference.  I do know one thing, you have to make reservations WAY AHEAD in order to get a room, especially if you want to stay at the hotel right next to the FHC library, the Best Western Plaza.
