Dispensa Research Question – Looking for Dispensa of Francisco Flores and Nepomucena Cuevas

Hello,

I am looking for the dispensa between Francisco Flores and Nepomucena Cuevas who married in Zapotlanejo, Jalisco on 04/June/1875. Here is their marriage certificate: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-G531-S4?i=365&cc=18745…

I have looked through all the films with dispensas matrimoniales of the Diocese of Guadalajara for the year 1875 and I have not been able to find it.

I have also looked in the “informacion matrimonial” for Zapotlanejo for the year 1875 and I could not find any details about their marriage there either.

Does anyone by chance have a suggestion/idea about where else I could look for this dispensa?

Thanks-Minerva

Help Deciphering Last Name (Abbreviations) and Barrio/Rancho locations

Hi!

If any of you would have the time, I would appreciate if one could help me decipher the following in the record below:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:9392-KHLM-6?i=39&wc=3J6S-GP…

Specifically, I am interested in the marriage entry for Jose Ramos (Yndio) and Maria Patricia (Yndia).

I am aware Jose's parents are Sevastian Ramos (please verify that the abbreviation in the image is for Sevastian) and Nicolasa Juana. However, I have no idea what the rancho is supposed to be that comes after his name. If someone could decipher it, I would appreciate it, and if someone knew where it was (at least in relation to Sayula so I can do further research) I would appreciate it.

As for his wife, I have figured out her name and her parents' names but I would also appreciate the help with regards to her geographic origination.

I can read Spanish well, so if you can help in Spanish or English I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Rafa

Criollos

I found some ancestors identified as Criollos, Indio Criollos and Mestizos Criollos. Can someone please tell me if Criollo was a Spaniard born in the colones, why say Indio or Mestizo? Some are just Criollos, does this mean they were Espanoles?
Appreciate any explanation from this group to help me understand.

Miramontes connection

Lorenso De Miramontes and Maria De Santiago had a son, Ysidro De Miramontes who married Bernarda De Avila 21 Jan 1709. Brigida De Miramontes who married Rafael Pinto De Avila 23 Jan 1735 was the padrina. This is my Avila connection to the Miramontes family and I wonder if anyone can provide information or assist me. Thank you. Evie

se instalaron con sus dos hijos. Enviudó poco después (Benítez, 1991: 114;

He goes on to give testimony and ends that because he has a relationship that of grandfather (es nieta) does not stop me from telling the truth.
Because I know that his wife is Michaela Gomes, I was able to locate a record of them I had created some time ago. They were parents to Pedro Antonio Dias de Leon (don’t know where the de Leon came from). Which led me to their marriage record that has only his name as Joseph Santiago de Padres no Conocidos and later the dias de leon appears though the first had Santiago, and Antonia had Dias.

Assistance with reading document/ ayuda con leer documento: carta de dote, Alfonsina de la Paz

Hola prim@s,

This is the carta de dote of my g8, Alfonsina de la Paz, who married Pedro de Guzman, 11 Feb 1629, in Guadalajara, Jal. FINALLY! A clue to her origins! But…the ink has bled through and makes the document difficult to read, and I’m unable to pull the names of her parents. They appear on lines 7 & 8, before “ya difuntos.” I have an idea of what her father’s name is, but I’d like for others to take a look, and get your take. Any assistance would be appreciated!
Gracias!

Nicolas de Escamilla and Michaela de Lomelin Jalostotitlan

I been trying to figure out who the parents of Nicolas de Escamilla and Micaela de Lomelin are. their son Juan Manuel Escamilla was baptized 4 July 1711 in Jalostotilan Padrinos Carlos Francisco de Vallarta y Juana de Lomelin. Nicolas became a window a few years after, married Manuela de Alfaro sometime between 1711 and 1714 family moved to Ayo el Chico. Juan Manuel Escamilla married Juana Quiteria de Alfaro Perez Oct 1727 in Ayo el Chico. Looks like the record for Jalos don't back further than 1698. I tried to look for Micaelas death record see if i could find another clue, but just to my luck the record from 1711-1714 dont exist. Does anyone know where i could find more information for the record of Jalos before 1700s, or does anyone know have more information on the Escamilla families from Los Altos.

Lizama Surname?

I recently discovered a paternal line that leads back to Gregorio Lizama, circa 1810, father of Severiano Lizama, and husband of Guadalupe Guerrero. There is no indication of the birth location of Gregorio or Guadalupe.

I found the death record of Severiano showing his death taking place in Tepic, Nayarit on 02 May 1876. The record indicates he was originally from Rincon de Romos, Aguascalientes.

https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/60481/004882108_01514/704557?backu…

Does anyone have or know of a Lizama family in their tree? I am looking for a direct male descendent that would be willing to take a Y-DNA test, at my expense.

Thanks in advance for any input,
Roy

Ways to find Pablo de Alba ?

Dear Primos,
I have been trying with no aveil, to find a brother of (Jose) Pedro de Alba Perez, he was the youngest, named Pablo of parents: (Jose) Lamberto (de) Alva Jimenes and Librada Perez Muños, most probably born in San Juan de los Lagos. He is mentioned in one of my Grandfather's book, mentions that he was a Shoemaker. Only reference that I can find is his marriage to Maria Josefa Padilla Gonzalez, 19 July 1910 in San Juan de los Lagos.
Had to be born after 1886, (date my grandfather was born).
Is there another search engine other than Familysearch ??
I have tried most conbinations, such as: de Alba, Alva, Jose Pablo, with Lamberto and Librada as parents,
Nothing works,
Any hints, or help will be greatly appreciated.

Saludos, the Path on NR as follows :
FILES > REFERENCE MATERIALS > VALLE DE HUEJUCAR is a .doc document
... This seems to be a reference to LDS film number 635924 San Jose de Calvillo
... It seems to indicate this is a Census of the parish...
..
I have been unable to locate a link to view this film online searching by the film number. It only directs me to the entire Ags. Catalog.

...If anyone can direct me to this it would be appreciated. I am also searching for (If it Exists) Padron de 1820 for Calvillo, Ags.

Additionally I would like to view the Huanusco,Zac. & Tabasco, Zac. census from either of this years 1820 & 1834.

Hi,
I am having trouble following who is whose parent, grandparent, and great grandparent.
I got so far that Bernardino Mexia and Maria de Luna are Phelipe's parents.
But I can't figure out how Melchor de Moscoso y Sandoval, Mariana de Moscoso de Sandoval, and Magdalena de Islas are related.

Presentación personal / Personal Introduction

Presentación personal / Personal Introduction

Saludos a todos / Greetings everyone,

I am new to the group, although not so new to doing Los Altos genealogical research. My name is Kassandra Brenot; I am the great-grand-daughter of a Los Altos couple who came to the U.S. during the cristero war.

About 25 years ago I began researching my family roots in Los Altos, thanks to my Marquez cousins and the Somos Primos group in the greater Los Angeles area (including Mimi Lozano and Mary Lou Montagna and the stellar work they all got me going on, for which I shall be forever indebted). While my professional and family duties have pulled me away from my passion for genealogy over the course of the past twenty years or so, through some recent unexpected encounters through my work I have reconnected with my Los Altos roots...

I am the head of an all girls, Catholic boarding school in Monterey, California and have discovered that a few of the families at my school are Los Altos families! Knowing the prevalence of endogamia amongst los alteños, I figured we must be related so.... during my summer vacation, I dug back into my old files and jumped online and have been helping these families get started on researching their lines.

Lo and behold, we are related and we are now looking to start a small Los Altos research group here on the Monterey Peninsula. We had our first mini-get together last night with a small group that represented Ramirez, Loza, Campos and Gutierrez. Some of the members of these families immigrated only within the past 20 years, while others immigrated in the 1950s, settling in the Salinas Valley. As for my own family, it was my great-grandparents María Gonzalez Muñoz and José Lorenzo Loza Muñoz who emigrated from San Miguel el Alto to Carpinteria, California in 1926. Some of the names I am researching farther back in my lines (in the areas of Jalostotitlán, San Juan, Aguascalientes and Ayo el Chico) are the following:

Baeza
Becerra
Camacho-Riquelme
Fernández de Rueda
García de Miranda
González de Rubalcava
Hernández de Arellano
Hurtado de Mendoza
Lomellini
López de Fueresclava
Muños de Nava y Estrada
Loza y Linares
Lozano Vásquez
Machuca
Ornelas
Vásquez Cermeño

Through this group, I hope to fill in a few holes I have in my chart, as well as to help guide some of these families as they begin discovering the joy of researching their Los Altos family history. What I also hope to learn more about through this group is the rich history and traditions of the Los Altos region: I was only about 8 when my great-grandmother died so what little I know about Los Altos is what I have read about, found online, or heard about through cousins, grandparents and family friends.

Saludos a todos,
Kassandra
