This record is really an eye opener for me. I went through that film
record by record about 9 months ago when my research was only 3 months
old. I saw that record but at the time I had no idea who Manuel
Castaneda and Lugarda Diaz were. So this brings up a good point about
why certain films should be made permanent at your family history
center. As your knowledge grows you will definitely have different
insight when you look at certain records. If you look over a film
quickly and send it right back you will be surprised one day when you
need it but its not available without have to reorder it.

So if you are looking in the area where several of your families
generations lived consider making those films part of your (their)
permanent collection at your local family history center. Yes you might
have to be selective as it can get expensive but think how much it would
cost to have to travel to Mexico to look for these same records. Find
what you can from home and later when you need to go to Mexico or if you
just want to go to visit the place of your roots you can look for those
records not available at your local FHC.

The notary priest was about to make a mistake regarding Manuel Castañeda's ALREADY dead wife.  Notice he wrote that he was married to María Melchora Miramontes first, but then he later corrects himself and says "the above mentioned is the mother of the deceased (thus not his wife) and his wife was Ma. Lugarda Díaz). Manuel died a widower, indicating that his wife, Ma. Lugarda Díaz, had already passed away.  His parents were José Castañeda and María Melchora Miramontes.  Most likely they were all from Tlaltenango, Zacatecas, as that was the epicenter of ALL the Miramontes in the region. 



In case anybody out there has the Miramontes surname, like I do, we are also related to the Haro/Aro family.  The surname used to be Miramontes de Haro, in the late 1500, and some of the sons used Miramontes and others used Haro/Aro.  The Miramontes and Haro are all related.  I have a Miramontes connection from Tlaltenango.  I descend from Diego de Miramontes (from Tlaltenango) married to María de Anda (from Teocaltiche), through their daughter María de Anda y Miramontes, who married Tomás Macías Valadéz on 2 February 1693, in Aguascalientes.  Several of their children moved to and married in Ayo el Chico, Jalisco.  So Joseph, it seems we have a familial connection at last, as tenuous as it may be.

here is my translation:   the 2nd word in parenthesis is "espresada"; 
meaning the "above named/referenced".  The word before viudo 
is "estado"; meaning "marital status".

**I am also researching the surnames of Gaeta and Huizar, along with 
the spelling variations (or spelling mistakes) which include, Gueta, 
Huisar, Guisar, Guizar.

**I am currently looking into two different Gaeta families and two 
different Huizar families.  The two different Gaeta families are 
probably related but I have not found the link yet, likewise for the 
two different Huizar families.

**I was looking over your genealogy file and found some names that I 
recognized.  The first was Martina Cardenas married to Angel Lopez.

This week-end Rich and I take off for a long vacation traveling from 
Utah, to Arizona and finally coming home by way of Long Beach.  I 
checked the membership profiles of the Ranchos Group and hoped to e-
mail only those members in these areas.  But I find most of the 
profiles are incomplete so I am sending it to all members.  
Our travel plans are:

I have hyphen the last names of his ancestors so it would be easier

Some of you might be wondering how to use your regular email address
instead of the Yahoo email address you got when you signed up.

So if you want to change your place where you receive your emails here
how to do it:

go to: http://groups.yahoo.com/

at the top right click on "Sign In"

now enter your ID and Password

now you should be successfully logged in [you'll know that because it
will not say "Welcome Guest" but say "Welcome You" at the left top]. . .

. . .now that you are successfully logged in click on Account Info at
the top right

at this point it might ask for your Password agaiin. . . .don't argue
just give it to them

Under "Member Information" click on "Edit"

on this page where it says Alternate Email 1 (Primary) put your email

click on "Finished" when you are finished.

I've just entered my films that I have at my local Family History Center
on permanent hold. Some are ordered and should be here soon. If anyone
need a "specific" look up I'd be glad to do it unless you need it in a
hurry.

Just send me the specific date and who your are trying to find and I'll
do my best. . .sorry I can't just scroll through the film looking for
people, I barely have enough time to do this on a limited basis for myself.
