I have been researching my Gonzales' in the early 1700 and late 1600's in Tlaltenango records. Sorry to say, but I noticed the LDS church only has the second book on film for Colotlan baptisms. Try Tlaltenango. I have been seeing people from Colotlan getting married and having children baptized there. I have not really looked at Jerez....but that might another avenue as well. I just recently started looking at Colotlan's earliest records. My one Gonzales/Munoz line came from the area of Coculiten and Huejucar....they settled in Aguascalientes and they've been a real pain to find.

I, like both you and Katy, descend from Augustin Villegas and (Francisca)Rosalia Enrriquez (spelled many different ways, including Anrriques). I do not have the names of his parents, and I believed he married Rosalia in Jerez, during a time period that is not covered in the online records. There are gaps in the Jerez records that would help quite a few of my genealogical questions, but for whatever reason, they are missing.

I do have a note about Agustin: I have seen his last name mentioned as Villegas Moreno. I don't know if Moreno is his mother's last name, or if two two names are really one last name.

As Katy mentioned, Rosalia's parents were Antonio Enrriques and Gertrudis Quesada. There are many people in Huejucar who are descended from the Quesada family, along with the Banuelos family (my great-grandma was a Banuelos who descends from Agustin and Rosalia. My family tree contains many of the family members.

Hello Gilbert, in order to know if you, Joseph, and Gloria having autosomal
markers in common they would also have to get a Family Finder test. Even if
they get the test there is no guarantee they are going to show as matches
even if they truly are related to you. Not all markers are passed down from
all of your ancestors. If they do show as matches then they are possibly
related to you. Having other people with some of the ancestors showing up
as matches on the same segment of a specific chromosome will help raise the
likelihood being related through the line that is in common in all of you/

Having your parents test could help prove which side of the family your
matches are related to you. If you, one parent and a third person all have
markers in common in a certain segment of a certain chromosome then it is

I also am in need of information on where to search for Fresnillo Baptism records in the 1800's. The earliest record I have found is 1862. I have names for the next two generations back, taken from baptismal records after 1862 but nothing comes up when I enter that information. Kinda frustrated!!

I just signed up for the Los Altos de Jalisco DNA project on Family Tree DNA and ordered the kit for Family Finder + mtDNAPlus. I am really excited to find out the results. Finally, I hope to have some answers or at least clues.....

Thanks Armando for all the info and for taking the time to answer all our questions. Its something I've thought about for a long time. The wealth of info you provided has been invaluable.

DNA tested?   It might help me decide whether or not to proceed with the autosomal test, as ones chances of finding a match is limited to their data base.
