Hello-

I have beenr researching these ancestors and know that many of us from Aguascalientes come from them. It seems that no one has any info on them besides an IGI File (posted below). Does anyone have this file in their records? I just wanted to ask before I ordered it. Also I think that there may be some possibility that Polonia Torres is the Daughter of Polonia Gamboa and Juan de La Torre from Colima Mexico.

but would like to locate the birth record of Polonia, or marriage record of her to Nicolas Ramirez or the marriage record of one of her children, Agueda Torres, apolonia torres,. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Esther,

If you already have a username and password just logon and hover over the
menu where it says My Account and a drop down menu will show up with the
option GEDCOM/Family Tree and click on that. It will take you to a screen
where you can upload a gedcom file.

If you want to use your brother's Genographic project results being used in
FTDNA you need to them transferred. It is explained in the FAQ at
http://www.familytreedna.com/faq/answers.aspx?id=3#326 I am not sure if you
can combine your results and his results in to the same account. You should
call FTDNA for that. At worst you'll have the two accounts. One in his name
and one in your name.

What is your paternal line and what is your maternal line? How far back
have you gone with them?

What microfilms and other records do I need to research to find more information about the families that traveled to New Mexico from Zacatecas around 1598?

I have the book "New Mexico's First Colonists. The 1597-1600 Enlistments for New Mexico under Juan de Onate, Adelante & Gobernador" by David H. Snow.

I hope to find baptism, marriage and death records. What are the names of the towns and settlements in Zacatecas where the people lived?

Consider the following:

Pedro Losano was married to Beatrís Enrriques del Castillo; they had at least seven documented children, five of them between 1700 and 1716, and all but the last of those five in 'la Estancia de la Vaqueria' in Jalos. There are at least two additional children, both female; their relationship to their parents is documented by their own marriages, in 1711 and 1718, respectively. Assuming the girl who married in 1711 was at least 16 years old, that makes her birth date no later than about 1695; so the marriage of Pedro Losano and Beatrís Enrriques del Castillo probably took place by 1694 or thereabout.

Padrinos at the birth of one of the Losano children, Joseph Miguel, in 1703 were "... Jacinto Losano y su muger Francisca Vasques ...".

Jacinto Losano, "... viudo de Francisca Vasques de Lara ...", married Lugarda Enrriques del Castillo in 'la Estancia' in 1712. The parents of Lugarda are given as 'Joseph Enrriques del Castillo y de Da Ana Tabera'—the apellido is unclear to me on the image [film 279295 image 145 page 45v] and I am unfamiliar with that name. This is certainly the same Jacinto Losano who was the padron at the baptism in 1703.

Now, this evidence begs the following questions: (1) are Pedro Losano and Jacinto Losano brothers (or at least related); and (2) are their spouses, Beatrís Enrriques del Castillo and Lugarda Enrriques del Castillo, sisters (or at least related)?

I have been unable to locate the marriage record for Pedro Losano and Beatrís Enrriques del Castillo, and the parents of Jacinto Losano are not given in the record of his second marriage, since he is identified only as 'viudo de ...' in the record.

Does anyone have any information that will illuminate this issue for me? I'm thinking, of course, of Hernando Enriques del Castillo in Guadalajara a generation earlier.

Just to be sure I understand what is known, and not known, about this (presumed) Enriques family:

We know that Francisco Enriques (1677, Nochistlán), who married Ana Albares de Tostado (1702, Nochistlán), is the son of Pedro Enriques and Isabel Calderon Delgadillo; indcientally, we also know that Francisco has a sister, Magdalena (birth date unknown), who married Joseph Albares de Tostado (1702, Nochistlán). Not to get off too far on a tangent, but Ana Albares de Tostado's parents are Juan Albares Tostado and Ysabel Ramires de Mendosa, while Joseph Albares de Tostado's parents are Francisco Tostado and Ana Ramires. So while Francisco Enriques and Magdalena Enriques are siblings, Joseph Albares and Ana Albares are at most cousins, if they are related (it is a reasonable assumption that they are, but it is unproved). Coincidentally, the two marriages (of Pedro Enriques and his sister, Magdalena) are consecutive on the microfilm roll.

We also know that a Pedro Enriques (1646, Guadalajara) is the son of Hernando Enriques and María de Cuellar. We know further that a Bernardo Enriques (1644, Guadalajara) is also a son of Hernando Enriques and María de Cuellar.

We know that a Pedro Enriques, "... veo de la Villa de S. Phelipe en el obispado de Mechoacan ...", married Isabel Calderon (1667, Nochistlán).

What we do not know, then, is whether the two Pedro Enriques' are the same person.

Do I have that right?

The Nueva Galicia Genealogical Society, which focuses on genealogical interests from the Nueva Galicia area of colonial Mexico, is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Nueva Galicia Genealogical Society Conference, which will be held in Sacramento, California (Northern California) at the California State Archive, 1020 " O " Street on May 12, 2012.

The California State Archive will provide two guided tours of the archive, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. They will also provide a viewing of California Spanish land grant and California's bilingual State Constitution material.

The conference will kick off with featured speaker, Claudia Casillas. Claudia will do a presentation on the Dispensas of Guadalajara. Among other issues, she will cover the current status of the extraction project. She will reveal what is a Dispensa Matrinonial and where these records are located. She will be breaking down a Dispensa document and showing techniques for extracting important details

Marian Kile will speak on PC Tips that all Genealogists Should Know. Marian will show us some ways to make our research and documentation easier. She will cover cutting and pasting, using screen images, saving documents and images, and more. Marian is a former Computer Programmer, and currently volunteers at the Sacramento Family History Center. She's an experienced Genealogist and has been teaching others how to research their family history.

Presenting as well is John M. Koelsch. He will give a talk on the subject of Mexican Revolution research sources. John is the moderator of the Yahoo Mexican Revolution Researchers Group. John has spent a number of years now doing research on the Mexican Revolution. This work has included searching in archives and university libraries across the USA with emphasis on resources found in the border states of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. He has also done research at the Archivo General de la Nación which is the National Archive of Mexico.

A premier Mexican musical group in Sacramento,CA. will provide a presentation on the historical origins and characteristics of the typical music of Jalisco and Zacatecas, Mariachi music, Tamborazo Zacatecano. The distinguishing characteristics of son jalisiense and corridos zactecanos will be explored,

In my direct paternal ancestor search, I found the following record:

Gregorio Pinedo m. Agustina Ulloa
Place/date: Monte Escobedo, Zacatecas, 28 April 1834
Gregorio Pinedo's parents: Bartolo Pinedo and Maria Gonzales
Agustina Ulloa's parents: Crisanto Ulloa and Juana Contreras
Source: Monte Escobedo, Matrimonios 1799-1877 (p225 of 722)

In looking at this record, there's the following reference: "previa la dispensa de cuarto con cuatro grado de consanguinidad de que fueron dispensados (?) la sagrada mitra de Guadalajara."

I'm actually new to the Mitra de Guadalajara. Where can I find this dispensa? Does anyone know of an index for this time period. I saw there's a website (guadalajaradispensas.com), but I don't see this time period up.

Any help is appreciated!

Catalina Herrera de Cantillana married to Juan Montes Vigil II from Zacatecas on 21 Jun 1619 in Zacatecas [9th great grandparents]

Miguel de la Cruz Lara and Juana de Ancizo born in Zacatecas about 1600 [8th great grandparents]

Hernan Martin Serrano born about 1525 in Zacatecas [11 great grandfather]

Hernan Martin Serrano born about 1556 in Zacatecas and married to Juana Rodriguez, born in Zacatecas about 1563. Married in Zacatecas about 1577. [10th great grandparents].

Simon Perez de Bustillo, born abt 1576 in Zacatecas, married to Juana de Zamora Baca. [10th great grandparents]

As you can see, I don't have specific dates or locations. The dates are educated guesses.

Please direct me to the most appropriate documents.

Joseph Bisente Enriques Albares (nac. 18 Agosto 1714, Media Anega, Jalostotitlán) and Juana Manuela Gonsáles are the documented parents of at least four children, all born in Jalos: Joseph María (1742, San Francisco); Juan Joseph Ramón (1744, Media Anega); Joseph Sixto Rafael (1757, Media Anega); and Anna María Sirila (1762, Jalostotitlán). I am researching a Mexican marriage record from 1755 in which the groom is described as 'flamenco de Nasion originario de la Ciudad de Dunquerque'. I interpret this as a gypsy from the city of Dunkirk (France). I am not sure what the 'de Nasion' signifies unless it means gypsy nation or of this nation. If anyone has encountered this terminology or has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Thank you for your comments and ideas.I should have mentioned the composition of my guest list. There will be 8 adults (4 of them non-latino, but three of them have been family members for several years), and 6 grandchildren under the age of 12. The tamales were a request.The idea of a nopal salad is intriguing - I haven't had nopales in decades, and no one else among those attending Easter dinner has ever had them. Can anyone suggest a good recipe for the salad?  I like to offer sufficient variety, so that everyone will find something to eat, which is why I asked for some ideas for side dishes. There will be a fresh fruit platter.Thanks again.

Im trying to look for a record on Familysearch.com.And their is a major problem so i click on Mexico Catholic Church Record, then i click on the state which in this case is Zacatecas then i have to click the name of the city or town and which in this case is Nochistlan.And the problem is that Nochistlan is not their can someone please help me?

He estado buscando a los padres de mi antepasada Luisa de Espinosa, quién tuvo por hijo natural a Juan Antonio Moreno de una relación con Juan Moreno de Ortega González de Hermosillo, éste dato aportado por Armando. Juan Antonio casó con Ana María Galván Lozano el 18 de Septiembre de 1718 en Lagos.

Es por esta situación de que carezco de un acta matrimonial para saber los padres de Luisa aunque buscando registros bautismales de la zona encontré a tres posibles antepasadas, que son las siguientes:
1. María Luisa Espinoza Almendaris (bau. 8 Sep 1682 en Lagos) hija de José Arias de Espinoza y Ortiz de Parada y de Francisca de Almendaris y Muñoz.

2. Luisa Elvira Espinoza (bau. 31 Dic 1687 en Lagos) hija de Agustín de Espinoza y Marina de Lomelín.

3. Luisa de Espinoza y Salazar casada con Pedro García Gómez en Lagos el 13 Marzo de 1678, podría ser que ya viuda tuvo por hijo natural a Juan Antonio.

Analizando estas actas estoy muy seguro de que la indicada es la primera, considerando que su hijo debió haber casado a una edad aproximada de 20 años significa que Luisa lo debió haber tenido a la edad de 16 años aproximadamente, considerando a la segunda hubiera sido a la edad de 10 años, así que no y la tercera ya sería un caso muy rebuscado. Espero alguien me pueda orientar un poco pero bueno paso a la segunda pregunta.

Ya que considero que mi antepasada se trata de María Luisa Espinoza Almendaris, conozco el nombre de sus padres ya mencionado. Sus abuelos paternos fueron Felipe Arias Espinoza (escribano público de Lagos) y Catalina Ortiz de Parada. Abuelos maternos Francisco de Almendaris y María Muñoz. Felipe fue hijo del también escribano público Francisco de Espinoza, quien ví por ahí que era un andaluz pero no lo tengo confirmado.

Mi pregunta es si alguien ha podido establecer el nombre de los padres de Francisco de Espinoza y el de su esposa, los padres de Catalina Ortiz de Parada, los de Francisco de Almendaris o los de María Muñoz.
