Miguel Ramon Solis, author of "Andarliegos y Pobladores Nueva España and Nueva Galicia siglo XVI" is one of the genealogists adding to the confusion by making the mistake that the conquistador is the Jeronimo Lopez that married into the Peralta family. It is this confusion that has been the block wall stopping people from figuring out the correct family tree for Manuel Coría de Peralta. Once people realize that it is the son Jeronimo Lopez el mozo that is the one that is married to Ana Carillo de Peralta, then they will realize that the dates that people give for the age of Jeronimo's daughter married to Diego Coría cannot be right. Just because Diego becomes a widower in 1550 does not mean that he marries his next wife in 1551 as people mistakenly write. The bigger question mark is which Diego Coría is the one married to Maria Mendoza daughter of Jeronimo Lopez and Ana Carillo de Peralta. It does seem likely that it is correct that the Diego Coría identified as her husband is an

Dear Daniel,
I too descend from "el Amo" Aceves. This should make us between fourth and sixth cousins depending on which line you descend from.
The Cervantes line that you mentioned most likely is the same Cervantes line that descends from Jeronimo Lopez el mozo. One of his daughters married into the Cervantes family.
Another of his daughters did marry Diego Coría, became widowed as she married an OLD man, and then joined a few of her sisters in the convent. Since the women change their names when entering the convent, it would be hard to figure out which one was originally named Maria Mendoza. The Mendoza comes from a greatgrandparent from the Peralta line.

Estimado Daniel:
Saludos
Guillermo
