Miguel Ramon Solis, author of "Andarliegos y Pobladores Nueva España and Nueva Galicia siglo XVI" is one of the genealogists adding to the confusion by making the mistake that the conquistador is the Jeronimo Lopez that married into the Peralta family. It is this confusion that has been the block wall stopping people from figuring out the correct family tree for Manuel Coría de Peralta. Once people realize that it is the son Jeronimo Lopez el mozo that is the one that is married to Ana Carillo de Peralta, then they will realize that the dates that people give for the age of Jeronimo's daughter married to Diego Coría cannot be right. Just because Diego becomes a widower in 1550 does not mean that he marries his next wife in 1551 as people mistakenly write. The bigger question mark is which Diego Coría is the one married to Maria Mendoza daughter of Jeronimo Lopez and Ana Carillo de Peralta. It does seem likely that it is correct that the Diego Coría identified as her husband is an

Dear Daniel,

I too descend from "el Amo" Aceves. This should make us between fourth and sixth cousins depending on which line you descend from.

The Cervantes line that you mentioned most likely is the same Cervantes line that descends from Jeronimo Lopez el mozo. One of his daughters married into the Cervantes family.

Another of his daughters did marry Diego Coría, became widowed as she married an OLD man, and then joined a few of her sisters in the convent. Since the women change their names when entering the convent, it would be hard to figure out which one was originally named Maria Mendoza. The Mendoza comes from a greatgrandparent from the Peralta line.

To my knowledge, Los Contreras was a ranch that is now in the town of Tlaltenango de Sánchez Román, Zacatecas. At that time, it would have been part of Nueva Galicia which put it under the jurisdiction of Guadalajara. I saw "Los Contreras" a lot on the Tumblr Dispensas.

Hello,
I have a few relatives born in Rancho Contreras as recent as 1880. My farthest Contreras is
Maria Gertrudes Ramona Cardenas ( born circa 1798 Momax, Zac)
Married Juan Jose Ribera in 1814 Momax.
Her parents are Augustin Cardenas and Maria Tejada.

It's a line I have yet to research. My notes say that the Contreras of Momax and Tlaltenango intermarried often with Briceno and Orozco.

Anything ring a bell? I will focus on both Ribera and Contreras soon. Good luck.

Hello, Mr. Ricci. I am related to Alessandro Vitela through our common ancestors Jose Antonio Apodaca and Cornelia Rosalia Ayala, married in Sayula, Jalisco on May 30, 1814. I also strongly believe that we may have common Castro ancestors from Zacoalco.

I've been in contact with him and he's on my facebook list. I just sent him your message and I hope to hear from him soon. I'll let you know.

Dear Steve,

I used some of my searching skills to track him down. I sent him an email and he responded last night. I provided him with the info, and some threads that may provide more information. He was grateful and asked me to send him my book when I finish it. My book has a few chapters on the Cervantes as I have found much information on this family that is not found in already published books.

Thanks,
Rick A.Ricci

P.S. This is the second time this month that I tracked down someone that used to be part of the nuestrosranchos.orgmunity. The first time I asked police officers to deliver my message. I have yet to receive a response except that the police officers say that he said he was recovering from a recent surgery and that was why he wasn't responding to email messages or phone calls.

It was a welcome exercise tracking down live people for a change.

As Joseph points out, you need not supply your entire genealogy in order to join the group. I think it is necessary for you to share part of it, however, in order for others to confirm whether they share the same lineages as you. Of course once you make that connection, you are free to collaborate as much or as little as you want with those individuals.

I have found that group members in general are very generous with their research, particularly with others who share their lineages.

To Juan
l have connected the Cervantes line to my other work on the enriquez de castillo line.
I also found that the two cervantes lines are actually two branches from the same trunk.
I only recently started looking at this branch again.
I descend from Juan de Villasenor Orozco and Catalina Cervantes y Lara Andrada.
Catalina's grandfather, Diego Cervantes, married to Guiomar de Tello is related to the other giant cervantes family. When the two cervantes joined in a marriage there was an acknowledgement of the bride's father that they come from two branches of the same cervantes family.
I would like to hear/see more of your family tree to see how it connects to my tree.

Joseph,

As you are aware, I became member of nuestrosranchos.org very recently. From
the little that I have seen so far, without doubt that my research has been
very limited. Specifically, I am counting in my family tree 218 individuals
with the Michel surname (me included) and only 5 with the Villaseñor
surname. About 70-80% (fortunately me included) are alive. These individuals
are scattered over 8 generations. Not all individuals for each of the

Jalisco, mostly Autlan de Navarro.

As you may conclude, without doubt I would be interested in contacting my
most-probably-relative Juan Andres Michel. But also without doubt that my
piece of sharing would not be commensurate with Juan Andres´.

What are the names of their children, and what records do you have on them? Do you know of any siblings of Francisco and Ana Maria? I did find someone that may be your Ana Maria, but would need more information to see if they are the same person. The person I found was baptized in 1751 which may have been late since you say that she was born circa 1745.

Hi SIS,

I notice there's a Francisco Delgadillo married to Anna Maria de Sandoval, who lived in Nochistlan. They baptized children in Jul 1766 & Feb 1773, while your Francisco Delgadillo and Anna Maria Ruiz baptized their children in Aug 1769, Jul 1771, Nov 1776 & Sep 1781. Chances are, they are the same couple. It wasn't unusual for women to use different surnames (usually a maternal surname), so you might want to track them; check which rancho their children were born on, and who the padrinos are, and see if they coincide with those of Francisco Delgadillo cc Anna Maria Ruiz.

Francisco Delgadillo married Anna Maria de Sandoval, 19 Sep 1765, Nochistllan: he was son of Diego Delgadillo cc Juana Marcela de Frias, and she daughter of Cristobal? Sandoval cc Anna Rodriguez.

Ancestry.com has different levels of subscriptions, the Basic, U.S. searches only, World and another level. I found the difference the hard way, I was not able to search my lineage in Mexico until I spoke with Ancestry and they apprise me of the
different levels and cost associated with each level. I also considered getting an expert researcher and found that my pockets are not that deep. I have been a World level client for about 6 years, even had my DNA tested. The downside to DNA

I had subscription to Ancestry since 2009 and fairly happy with what they offer. Their prices have doubled since 2009 when it cost $100 dollars a year and now its $300.00 a year. They partnered with Fold3 and Newspapers.com, these two are added to your ancestry account as part of the package. I already have the two mentioned as separate accounts with those companies. I purchase the 6 month Ancestry plan for $149.00 which still gives me full access worldwide records and Mexico. Since Ancestry recently added millions of new records, I have found many new exciting records on my ancestors. I think it's worth it for me since I've had much success with records from Mexico. What you say is so true. I found out that many folks are not interested in their genealogy, and they wonder why we want to go to court houses, libraries, cemeteries, etc.

I have received more help from several educated, articulate members here in Nuestros Ranchos that live in the area who have common ancestors than from any online websites. Those people are always willing to share their family trees. Those websites like Ancestry and even Family Search are more like repositories of documents. When those documents turn out hard to read, someone in NR is always willing to translate them for us.

Both daughters are illegitimate as Juan de la Torre Ledesma is legally married to Isabel Marquez y Martin del Campo. It's taken many years to finally put this line together.

Ana Muñoz de la Barba and Josefa Munoz de la Barba are the daughters of Francisco Muñoz de las Barba and Catalina Gonzalez-Rubio (aka Gutierrez-Rubio)
Francisco Muñoz de la Barba is the son of Juan Muñoz de la Barba and Ann de Espindola II
Catalina is the daughter of Captain Francisco Gutierrez-Rubio and Anna Gonzalez Florida.

Bartolome de Losa And Clara de Loza are first cousins twice. Their fathers are brothers and their mothers are sisters.

Bartolome is the son of Alejo Losa and Maria Ledesma (AKA Maria Gonzalez). (Bartolome is raised in Jalostotitlan)

Clara is the daughter of Antonio de Loza and Antonia Ledesma. (Clara is raised in Tepatitlan)

Since Maria Gonzalez (Maria Ledesma) and Antonia Ledesma are the daughters of Josepha Munoz de la Barba, and Josepha is the sister of Ana Munoz de la Barba, the mother of Diego Estrada, if we can find Josefa's parents from the clues that we have, then we will also have Ana's parents.

Josefa de la Barba and Ana de la Barba are sisters.

Josefa is the mother of Maria Gonzales and Ana is the the mother of Diego Estrada.

This makes Maria Gonzalez and Diego Estrada first cousins.

Maria Gonzalez is the mother of Bartolome Loza and Diego Estrada is the father of Maria Efigenia de Estrada.

This makes Bartolome Loza y Gonzalez and Maria Efigenia de Estrada second cousins.

Bartolome Loza y Gonzalez is the father of Manuel Albino Losa y Losa and Ma. Efigenia de Estrada is the mother of Maria de Jesus Castro

This makes Manuel Albino Losa y Losa and Maria de Jesus Castro y Estrada third cousins which is a fourth degree relationship.

Dear Chris,

You were right about Beatriz Andrada Bocanegra. She does appear to descend from Gioumar Andrada and juan Gutierrez de Bocanegra. I also descend from Guiomar Andrada's sister through another line. It all came together today. I will continue to research to confirm these findings. This line hooks up with other research projects that I have been working on for the past few years, the Cavalleria, Bocanegra, Golluf/Sanchez, and Cervantes.

the book "Ameca, protofundación mexicana: historia de la propiedad" only gives you a snippet view, but the sentences in the preview looks like it almost confirms that. when you click on the book it shows you there's a connection to Alonso de Avalos, that's another Avalos, Bocanegra and Villasenor connection

Dear Marcelina and Danny,

Most secondary sources make the same claim that they are his parents, but for a while I believed that they may be grandparents of Juan Gutierrez Bocanegra. The claim that they are his parents is not possible according to the dates that some of these secondary sources use.

I now believe that the dates that some these sources have are mistakes as I now believe that Diego is the father of Juan since Clara and Juan are identified as siblings,, that Juan was born in Spain before his family traveled to Nueva Galicia and that his sister Clara was born very soon after their arrival. There is a third sibling named Marcos. I am not sure where and when he was born.

Guiomar Andrade Villasenor and Juan Gutierrez de Bocanegra are the parents of at least three boys and two daughters. The daughters are Beatrice Andrade Bocanegra and Magdalena Andrade Bocanegra. Magdalena became a nun. Is this Beatriz Andrade Bocanegra the same one that I Have been looking for? I

Dear Marcelina and Chris,

Both couples, "Alonso Perez de Bocanegra and Beatriz Jaramillo y Andrada" and "Guiomar de Andrada Villaseñor and Juan Gutierrez de Bocanegra" have daughters named Beatriz Andrada Bocanegra.

Although it is possible for Bernardino de Estrada's wife Beatriz Andrada Bocanegra's parents to be Guiomar de Andrada and Juan Gutierrez de Bocanegra, deeper research has not yet identified for certain who her parents are.

A close connection also exists between the Cervantes Andrada family and the Jaramillo Andrada Bocanegra family. I have not found any conclusive evidence for Beatriz's parents. Both families were very closely related through both the Andrada and Bocanegra lines. Not only were they closely related, but they had a lot of contact and interacted with each other. Both had the rich Beatrice Andrada Cervantes as an aunt.

Aunt Beatrice Andrada Cervantes's first husband, Juan Jaramillo "el Viejo" was an uncle to Juan Jaramillio "el mozo". There is a

Luciano Lomellini Spinola , one of the two primary candidates to be Luis Lomellin who traveled and lived in Mexico is a sixth cousin of Christopher Colombus. There are other relationships but this is the closest that I have calculated so far.

Through another of Luciano Lomellini Spinola family line, he is a sixth cousin to Christopher Colombus's stepmother (Bartolommeo Colon's biological mother)

There is a much closer relationship that needs much more explanation as to its veracity than there is room here. There are numerous chapters explaining how this is possible in the book that I am presently writing. This book will be published soon.

The more I research the possible Luis Lomellini candidates, the more connections I find between Christopher Colombus and the Lomellini/Spinola families of Genoa/Portugal

The Lomelin subject is getting serious now--this is really good. What we need to do is gather all this information and combine it with what Steven Hernandez Lopez found and continue to go forward. We need to start piecing things together and find the irrefutable documents to establish the Lomelin family of Mexico with that of the Noble House of Genoa. Interesting enough, I am also related to the Spinola family on a different line, I also wonder if the Sicala mentioned above is related to my Diego di Sicala ancestor who was a master organist and settled in Guadalajara in the XVIII century, he later changed his name to Sigala. Hopefully that marriage will appear on that film supplying additional information to confirm my extending of this line. Hello, Cousins.

Recently saw in my inbox a discussion on the Leal de Ayala family. Don't know how to respond via that method, so I'm posting my comments on this forum.

Dear Mary Lou,

I did not have this valuable information. After I finish my Esparza book, I will get to work on trying to extend those lines.

Thank you,

Rick
