Yes, I am still going, to the FHL. I get done, there 2 to 3 times, a
month.  In fact, I am trying right now, to get approved, so that I can
teach classes at the FHL. And also, that the Library workers, can use
my disc, in helping the patrons.

When you come, in May.  Just let me when you are coming, and I will
make arraangements, to be there.

Also, if anyone is interested in learning, about performing Batch
Number searchs,  I just uploaded Powerpoint presentation on Batch
Number searches, at the Mexican FHR group.

Iniquez appears to be Basque also. See http://www.gaminggeeks.org/Resources/
KateMonk/Europe-Western/Basque/Surnames.htm. If you look up the surnname in the 
Mormon database, a large percentage of Iniquez people in Southwest Europe are from the 
Basque Countries. 

In addition, there is a reference in one of the message boards to Iniquez and a French 
person. See http://genforum.genealogy.com/iniguez/messages/1.html. This would not be 
unusual since the French Basques and Spanish Basques had much in common, as did the 
French Catalonians and Spanish Catalonians. Spain is a nation but there are many 
dissenters still; the Basques and Catalonian are passionate about their lands and people. 
The French Catalonia area is just as much "Spanish" as "French."

I have mentioned this before: there was a huge influx of Northern Spaniards (Galicians, 
Asturians, Cantabrians--aka Montañeses--- and Basques in the 1700's to the area we are 
all studying.

Hi all!  I just thought I'd write to ask who may be interested in a
Southern California or maybe even a Central California meeting.
Since I was so impressed with the Sacramento meeting, I would like
to arrange something similar, since I'm sure there are many members
who would like to meet in the Southern California region.

Please tell me the following:

1.  Do you prefer a meeting in the Los Angeles area or Central
California, as someone suggested in a previous message, so that
members in Northern California could meet us?

2.  Is January or February the best month for you?


If I can get ideas as to timing and interest, I can then offer
choices.

Hello Jose,

I would guess that surname would be a variation of Gonzalez 
Hermosillo.  That is very common in Los Altos.  If that's the case 
then, yes, Gonalez de Hermosillo is planned for Tomo III.

Unfortunately, I don't see Jauregui or Iniguez in the Plan General de 
la Obra.  The spelling of the names are standardized throughout his 
books.  However, that doesn't mean they won't be included in the new 
edition.  I understand he's including some new surnames.  Does anyone 
know what additional surnames will be included?

Some families do extend to other states, so you might find some of
your ancestry covered in one of the chapters.  I have a copy of Tomo
I which contains a "Plan general de la obra" for all the subsequent
Tomos (II - VI) and has all the surnames covered.  If anyone wants me
to check for any surnames send me an e-mail.

Each chapter begins with the first settlers and then traces their
male descendancy. Sources are cited for every bit of

Hi John,

Only Tomo I and II were published.  Tomo II covers Aceves to Gomez-
Hurtado de Mendoza.  Gonzalez de Hermosillo (from Jalostotitlan and 
Tepatitlan) was planned for Tomo III.  Looks like you'll have to wait 
for the new edition.
