Pedro & Pioquinta Pineda/o; Arteaga & Gonzalez -- Tlaltenango
Hello, I just wanted to see if the name Pedro Pineda/o in Tlaltenango, Zacatecas meant anything to anyone, or that of his wife Pioquinta ____dosa. I found a record a few weeks ago that has helped me further along in my own Pineda research...please review the names and let me know if they intersect with any of your research. As far as I know, they were all born in Tlaltenango Thanks. 1 Pedro Pineda/o + Pioquinta ____dosa 2 Nicanor Pineda/o (b 1884) + Emilia Gonzalez (b 1897 to Juan Gonzalez & Dolores Arteaga) 3 Jesus Maria Pineda (b 1930 in Laredo, Texas) Thanks and I hope to hear from you. Yes, Joseph, it's something to celebrate----our ancient RNA/DNA calling to
us to find each other. Sure, I'd make capirotada, but I prefer posole to
menudo since I don't like tripa---I prefer pork shoulder. I could skip the
lengua and cabeza (eeww---mad cow disease).
We are in Las Vegas, and at the first opportunity we found a good Mexican
restaurant, Diego's at the MGM. It was great--a guy made fresh guacamole at
our table, and the food was so good. I had the green chile tamales (made
from fresh corn) a Tesoro margarita (smooooth), chiles rellenos; my husband
had tacos al carbon (garlic-lime marinated skirt steak, etc on a soft corn
tortilla); three flavors of flan and coffee for dessert-----are you
drooling, Joseph?

Some families do extend to other states, so you might find some of
your ancestry covered in one of the chapters. I have a copy of Tomo
I which contains a "Plan general de la obra" for all the subsequent
Tomos (II - VI) and has all the surnames covered. If anyone wants me
to check for any surnames send me an e-mail.
Each chapter begins with the first settlers and then traces their
male descendancy. Sources are cited for every bit of data.

I would love a meeting in Southern California/Los Angeles area. I'm from
the San Gabriel Valley.
I'd love the opportunity to meet with anyone from this group. I'm thinking
February would be good since
we all would need a month to "decompress" from the holidays......

Hi all! I just thought I'd write to ask who may be interested in a
Southern California or maybe even a Central California meeting.
Since I was so impressed with the Sacramento meeting, I would like
to arrange something similar, since I'm sure there are many members
who would like to meet in the Southern California region.
Please tell me the following:
1. Do you prefer a meeting in the Los Angeles area or Central
California, as someone suggested in a previous message, so that
members in Northern California could meet us?
2. Is January or February the best month for you?
If I can get ideas as to timing and interest, I can then offer
choices.
Thanks!
Rosalinda

Well thanks for asking. I did a quick search and came up with the

Empty Genealogy Folders
if anyone has some extra time I need a volunteer to go through the
genealogies and see if any of the folders are empty. I found one that
was empty and am now wondering if any of the others are empty. Email me
privately if you want to do this.
Also if anyone would care to go through the links and check to make sure
none of the links are broken that would be a great help. While you are
at it I would greatly appreciate it if you would "COPY" and paste into
an email what all the links are. that way if Yahoo ever has a
catastrophe we'll be in a little better situation in rebuilding. Again
email me privately
thanks, joseph
Southern California meeting
I think this is a great idea. Since I'm in the So. Cal-Los Angeles area I'd really like a meeting in So. Cal, however, depending on the timing I may be able to make it to a Central Cal meeting.

Francisco has been in communication with Mariano Gonzalez Leal and has
received permission to make copies of the book and send them to one
location in the US where they would be distributed to the indivduals
interested. I'm understanding that he is talking about the current
edition and that there is due out an update but I am not sure when.
If he is talking about the current edition how many of you would be
interested in a photocopied copy? Let me know so we can get an idea of
how much interest there is.
thanks,
joseph
