My Cenobio was born in 1846 in Jerez.  His parents were Prudencio 
Gonzalez and Severiana Salcedo.  Cenobio's first wife was Ma. Eleuteria 
Tobar born in 1849 in Jerez (I think, her siblings were born in 
Tlatenango de Sanchez Roman).  Her parents were Mauricio Tobar and Ma. 
Petra Escobedo Sandobal. They were from Tlatenango originally.  Cenobio 
and Eleuteria had 3 children that I know of--Josefa, Candelaria, and 
Jesus Gonzalez.  Cenobio was widowed around 1878 or 79.

I don't know when my great-grandparents married--I do know that he was 
a LOT older than his second wife--he and his first wife had kids that 
were the age of his second wife and her siblings.  Anyway, he married 
Ma. Francisca Saldivar and had Paula, Ma. Altagracia, Matteo, 
Francisco, Juan, Sarah,and Jose.  That's the scoop so far.  I have 
details on Eleuteria's siblings...such as their names.  Marge:)

Alberto,

I've been very negligent in looking in your folder. Or possibly you
entered some things there and didn't sent out a notice to the group. no
matter. What i need is a favor from you. I see you are using Family Tree
Maker is that correct? Well I need for you to make up two "Genealogy
Reports" one for Fernando Durante and one for Francisco Prieto that
would be the same report for your trees. These trees are very difficult
for me to follow and I think the "Genealogy Report" would better
represent your family in "addition" to your "Tree chart". can you do
this for me? After sending me those files and any other representative
files you'd like to submit I will remove your .FTW file because thos
that don't have Family Tree Maker won't be able to access it. I want all
the files to be available to all persons regardless of their software.
That is almost impossible to do but most folks do have Word on their
computers and that in my opinion is the closest I can get.

this is a wonderful map but I was disappointed because some places out
in the sticks (like Rougemont) only show up as topographical maps.

but otherwise it really is like you said a wonderful resource. .
.everyone needs to have it on their computer if it's capable.

Most of us don't have enough money to go visit our ancestor's 
Ranchos. by using this program, you can go zoom right in to almost 
any place on the globe. This morning I visited: Guadalajara, 
Aguascalients, Zacatecas, Mexico City, Can Cun and finally got back 
to my own hometown and neighborhood. I could even go visit Joseph if 
I knew his address...

Hello all!

My name is Connie Dominguez and I've just joined the Ranchos Groups. I
look forward to learning a lot and sharing whenever I can.  I have
compiled a lot of information over the past 9 years since I embarked
on this journey...so much so that I can't keep a good handle on it.
Recently, I lost all of my old Word documents (things I'd compiled,
lists, copies of emails & posts, etc.) in a computer crash. A few
paper copies that I had just happened to print out survived. I will
try to reproduce or scan (bit by bit) what I feel might be useful to
the group.  

I began working on my own family tree and slowly began to branch out
to help others. What was once a light hobby became much more. I began
corresponding with many researchers, including some in this group, and
began learning and helping.  I welcomed challenges from fellow
researchers and tried to answer as many as I could. In fact, I began
researching/answering so many requests from others that it's been
years since I've actually worked on my direct family lines.  :-)  

I also began a 'small project' (or so I thought) in an effort to get
the big picture of the founding families of Aguas. I decided to
extract the baptisms, marriages and burials for Españoles from the
parish records of El Sagrario in Aguascalientes, Aguas., for the 17th
century.  (I extracted only Esp. or those having similar names or
mixed marriages only because most designated 'indios' or 'esclavos' in
the books did not carry surnames, and because my lines had previously
been classified as 'españoles'). However, with this extraction came
the tendency to begin linking families and compiling the data.
Eventually, I went back to the beginning and compiled family group
sheets for every married couple and filled in as many children as I
could. I am still in the thick of this process.  I was right...I do
have a much bigger picture of the families of Aguas., but in some
ways it's too big!  I intend to publish this information eventually
and add other compilations I've made in the book's appendices.

I will upload the specific surnames I am researching linked to their
places and times.  Likewise I will try to retrieve posts I may have
added to other lists and post them here if I feel they might be
helpful.  I've added my surname list to the Who's Who section of
this group if you have any questions or can offer any assistance with
those names.

There is a site posted by Mr. Berumen de la Torre that you might 
enjoy, it helped me since my Spanish is poor and reading the really 
old records is a learning experience for me.  When I compared my notes 
with what Mr. Berumen posted online I found I had missed some 
important information.  His site is
